Have Your Voice Heard Regarding Civil Sidewalks/No Sitting Measure
Berkeley City Council Chambers, 2134 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way
Tuesday, June 12th, 8:30pm

At its June 12th meeting, the Berkeley City Council will be considering a Civil Sidewalks measure that would ban sitting on sidewalks in commercial areas in Berkeley between the hours of 7am and 10pm.

At this meeting Council will decide whether to request that the City Manager draft a ballot measure for the voter consideration in the November 2012 election.

It is important that the Council hear from a broad range of citizens, merchants, and business owners--whether you support, or do not support, such a ballot measure. This is the democratic process, and your input is needed.

The City Council meeting starts at 7pm, but Council has several items before consideration of the Civil Sidewalks measure. Hence if you show up at 8:30 you should be able to speak up to two minutes during the public comment period prior to Council discussion.

For those who aren't available to attend the City Council meeting on Tuesday evening, please email your comments to the Mayor and City Council members:
