Cleaning Ambassadors Getting Downtown Berkeley Ready for April 3rd Launch Event
The Downtown Berkeley Association is on schedule to complete the deep cleaning, painting, and beautification of Downtown Berkeley in time for the launch of The New Downtown Berkeley at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza, 9-10am, Tuesday, April 3rd.
As shown in table and map below, the team has power washed 79% of the sidewalks in the district, painted most of the poles and fixtures, and worked in coordination with the City and BOSS Clean City program to maintain general cleanliness.
In March, the team is focusing primarily on beautification and landscaping by: weeding and laying decomposed granite in tree wells, replanting nine large planters and 6 median strip "fingers," and installing 180 hanging flower baskets in Downtown.
We appreciate your support of a clean, vibrant, welcoming, and prosperous City Center, and look forward to seeing you at the April 3rd launch event. (Please click HERE if you have not seen the invitation.)
