Have your voice be heard:
Public Hearing on Downtown Area Plan
7pm, Tuesday, March 6th
Old City Hall, 1934 Martin Luther King Jr. Way
After a seven year public process, the Berkeley City Council is considering passage of what appears to be a final Downtown Area Plan. In November 2010, Berkeley voters passed by 64% the Measure R ballot measure that has directed the Downtown Area Plan now before Council.
The Public Hearing is not expected to start until 7:30pm. All interested persons should be able to speak to the Council. Even if you do not speak, supporters and non-supporters are likely to be recognized. Hence your attendance is important.
Measure R was endorsed by a wide coalition of organizations including the Downtown Berkeley Association, Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, Sierra Club, The League of Women Voters, The Alameda County Construction and Building Trades Council, The Greenbelt Alliance, Livable Berkeley and the League of Conservation Voters.
