The Downtown Berkeley Association has selected Block By Block as it Clean and Ambassador Services vendor for the Downtown Berkeley Property-Based Business Improvement District (PBID), which commences operation on January 1st. Block by Block was selected after an extensive RFP process that included proposals and presentations from seven national and local vendors. Block By Block was a clear winner receiving unanimous support from the review committee and DBA Board of Directors.

 

Key factors in the selection process are Block By Block's ability to quickly, affordably and reliably provide Clean and Ambassador services, as well as landscaping, under a single management team; and a successful track record and strong references from over 40 markets they currently service, including Downtown Oakland, Santa Monica, and Pasadena. Block By Block is also committed to local hire of employees, as well as a second chance program for hiring from social service agency partners.

 

Block By Block is seeking qualified candidates for the Operations Manager position, who will be responsible for hiring and managing the Clean and Ambassador services team, with the extensive management and training support from the Block by Block transition team. The Operations Manager and the Clean and Ambassador teams will be an extension of the Downtown Berkeley Association, with close coordination and adjoining offices. The Operations Manager will also work with the City and other partners to coordinate services and resolve problems.
