"Occupy Wall Street" is planning to come to Downtown Berkeley. (see their message below). This group has been publicizing a planning meeting on October 8th and a large protest on October 15th to take place at Bank of America.
"The first #OCCUPYBERKELEY organizing meeting is on Saturday, October 8, at Noon at the Bank of America at the corner of Shattuck and Center. Then, on October 15, we want to see 5,000 people surround Berkeley's Bank of America, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy the space for a few months. Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices. It's time for DEMOCRACY NOT CORPORATOCRACY, we're doomed without it."
