Join us for Pixar's "UP" at the new Center Street Summer Cinema - free movies at the Bank of America parking lot on Center Street. Wear your best bow tie or scout badges to enter the costume contest and be eligible for prizes from local businesses.
CENTER STREET SUMMER CINEMA takes place on Saturday evenings, August 6, 13, 20 & 27, with movies to be projected onto the wall in the Bank of America parking lot at 2219 Center St. Movie watching is free but seating in the Bank of America parking lot at 2219 Center St. is $5 for a rental chair or you may BYOC.
Each film will be preceded with a costume contest with thematic prizes at 7:30pm, MC'd by local dignitaries. So dig through your costume box and join the fun on Saturday evenings. Cartoons and shorts will round out the evenings.
Aug 6 - wear your pirate costume to watch The Princess Bride;
Aug 13 - sport a goofy bow tie or the most scout badges for UP;
Aug 20 - dust off your safari attire for Raiders of the Lost Ark;
Aug 27 - dress as your favorite character from the Big Lebowski.
Dine al fresco starting at 6:00PM at restaurants serving café style on Center Street, closed to traffic between Shattuck Avenue and Oxford Street while entertainers from the Downtown MusicFest serenade you with steel drums, violins, or Brazilian guitars. Ride your bike, walk, BART, or take AC Transit to the heart of Downtown.
