A Berkeley Startup Cluster / Infusion Lunch
How to Make Berkeley a High -Tech Mecca
with Vivek Wadhwa and Michael Cohen
Thursday, March 3rd
12noon - 1:30pm, at Freight & Salvage
The Downtown Berkeley Association, as a founding partner of the
Berkeley Startup Cluster (BSC), would like to invite you to an Infusion Tech Lunch featuring Vivek Wadha, a prominent blogger (for Business Week and Techcrunch), and with academic appointments at numerous universities (UC Berkeley's School of Information, Duke, Harvard Law, and Emery). He will be in conversation with Michael Cohen, director of UC Berkeley's Innovation Ecosystem Development, on "How To Make Berkeley a High-Tech Mecca."
For the first time, the BSC is partnering with Infusion Lunch produced by Sylvia Paull to promote thought provoking lunches for the East Bay tech community. You should know about Sylvia: she likes to call on people to participate, whether to offer an opinion or get up on stage to explicate a point. It makes the event more interactive and informative than your average speaker panel.
The Berkeley Startup Cluster is a project of UC Berkeley, the City of Berkeley, the Downtown Berkeley Association, the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, and the East Bay Green Corridor with a mission to encourage tech startups and companies, investors, and entrepreneurs to do business in downtown Berkeley and other areas close to campus.
The event will be held on Thursday, March 3rd, at the Freight and Salvage
located at 2020 Addison Street. Lunch is $15 at the door (students get in for $10) and will be catered by the Bread Workshop which provides organic, sustainable, and delicious fare. Lunch is from 12noon to 12:30 in the lobby, and then we'll move into the auditorium to listen to our speaker.
RSVP to "whoisylvia@aol.com" by March 1.
