Greetings! June seems to be the month for celebrations, whether it's a graduation or other milestone. Here at MAAV we have much to celebrate, as you will read about below. The Board of Directors and staff also look forward to our annual Summer Retreat as a time to reflect on this year's accomplishments (see our Top 10) and plan for the coming year. As always, your feedback and suggestions are welcomed. Wishing you a restful & rejuvenating summer!

Spotlight on the Board

VeAnnVeAnn Leach (second from right) joined the MAAV Board of Directors in 2007 after serving as a parent representative on our middle school Bullying Prevention Coordinating Committee from 2004-2007. She now serves as Treasurer of the Board. Most recently VeAnn worked with fellow Board members Joyce Hunneman and Elizabeth Vainer as liaisons to the Melrose Running Club, heading up MAAV's participation in this successful event. She and her sisters and their daughters, pictured above, also walked in honor of her mom, Betty Jo Hagele, at this year's race.

VeAnn works part-time for Grossman Marketing, is President of the Melrose Garden Club and brings a creative touch to all she does! She resides in Melrose with her husband Tom, son CJ and daughter Abbie.

VeAnn said she joined the Board because "I believe in the work that MAAV does, the dedication it provides and the positive community it creates."
