On Your Mark, Get Set for Mother's Day!
Break out the sneakers, shake off the winter doldrums, and join us for the 12th Annual Melrose Run for Women! Sponsored by the Melrose Running Club, the event begins at Pine Banks Park in Melrose on Sunday, May 10. Better than breakfast in bed, the day begins with fun runs for kids, followed by the start of the women's race at 9:00 am. The 3.5 mile route winds through the scenic Swains Pond area of Melrose. After the race, enjoy massages, music, fresh-baked goodies and coffee. MAAV Board member Cindy Campbell MC's the festivities and adds to the fun. Last year 700 women participated, with partners, children, friends & relatives cheering them on! Click here for more information or to register online.

 Red Sox Raffle for MAAVThe Melrose Running Club has also generously donated 2 tickets to a Red Sox game to be raffled off at the Melrose Run for Women. All proceeds support MAAV programs. What better place to be this summer than Fenway Park! The seats are in the sheltered Grand Stand section behind home plate, game TBA. Raffle tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20 and can be purchased at the race or ahead of time at Melrose City Hall (Assessor's Office & Health Dept.), the Milano Senior Center, Melrose Drug, or by calling MAAV at 781-662-2010.  Spotlight on the Board
Lisa Figueiredo is a realtor and has been with RE/MAX Heritage for four years. Before joining RE/MAX Heritage, Lisa worked as a paralegal in Boston, and had extensive retail, fashion and event coordination experience, which dovetailed nicely into her career in real estate.
Lisa joined MAAV to help bring awareness to her community and surrounding communities on the importance of our local resources. She says, "Getting the word out there that there is guidance and support available for families and individuals affected by domestic violence will hopefully make a difference in someone's life."
