Co-sponsored by the Mass Mentoring Partnership and the Red Sox Foundation, 44 matches from across the state attended. 14 mentors and mentees from our 7th grade group enjoyed lunch in the EMC Club, photos with Wally and special guest Tom Caron of NESN. Spotlight on the Board
Our newest Board member, Shawn MacMaster, is the Deputy Chief of Community Outreach and Training for the Victim Witness Services Bureau of the Middlesex District Attorney's Office. He has worked at the District Attorney's Office for 8 years, and in the field of victim services for approximately 11 years. Shawn joined the Board because he wants to part of an organization that is truly invested in the community. "There are few city-based organizations in the Greater Boston area that do more in the areas of violence prevention and intervention than MAAV. I want to offer my time, services and experience to help the organization grow as it continues to serve the Melrose community," he says.
Fun Fact: Shawn was born at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital but grew up in Lawrence. He has only lived in Melrose for 3 years but is happy to be "home" in the city where he entered this world! |
