Greetings!
Can you believe that it is October all ready? The weather the last few days has been wonderful, with the hint of autumn pouring in. Folks are putting out their Halloween decorations; the first in a series of holiday celebrations. Charlotte is slowly pulling out of the gas crisis, but economic concerns are still on everyone's mind.
I've been doing some research on what I should be doing to help my investments and to hopefully staunch some of the bleeding. What I am finding is that I need to trust in my financial manager and just roll with the punches. In other words, I should not panic. Those of us invested in mutual funds should be better off than the single stock owners, so take some deep breaths, do your research and wait for the turn around. I'm not saying that it isn't painful or that I am an expert, but we can adjust our attitudes to help our own sanity. Relaxed minds make better decisions than stressed and agitated ones. Do those things that help you de-stress and do them often! See you soon! |

Gas, Our cars and the Future
It's really pretty interesting watching how people are adjusting to the gas problem. I have noticed a few more bikes and scooters appearing on our streets, and the buses and train appear to be getting more crowded.
I'm lucky; I adjusted my work situation 2 years ago to get myself closer to home, and I have always bought a fuel efficient car. I also try to do all my shopping and entertainment locally and if I go uptown, it is on the bus. So, I haven't really been hit by the gas crunch, since I only fill up about once a month. But I have experienced it through my husband's problems. His situation is the exact opposite of mine. He has a huge truck for work and has to drive all over town. When the gas problems hit, he would use my car to find gas for his car!
What an interesting time we all went through, huh? I found a few sites that had some good information on saving gas and want to pass them on to you:
I think that this will make us all stronger and we will see some amazing leaps in technology very soon. Let's all think positively! |
