The Peace Within Massage Therapy Newsletter

MAY 2008
Greetings!

Welcome to my new newsletter format.  Please let me know what you think of it.  My goal was to shorten the old one, so there isn't as much reading to do, since we all have limited time!

Also let me know if there are specific things you would like to see in this format.  Do you want to know more about stretching or about massage modalities?  Send me an
The Neighborhood
It's so great when the weather gets nice!  Last night I think my entire neighborhood was out walking their dogs, or getting in a run, or pushing the baby around for some fresh air.  It was kind of neat!  I felt like I live and work in a very hip urban area.

The Plaza Midwood area is going through a lot of exciting changes.  I've heard that we are going to get parking in front of our building sometime in the near future.  It's part of the city's urban landscaping plan and it should be a nice improvement, even though it would still be better for you all to come in the back, the way our office is arranged.  So, be aware that more construction is coming our way.
Exercise and Stretching
stretch

All that activity in my neighborhood made me start thinking about stretching and how this very important aspect of getting in shape is quite often left out of the routine.  The best thing you can do for yourself (other than getting a massage!) is to get into a stretching routine.  Even if you don't do a whole lot of exercise, you can still benefit from lengthening those muscles that have tightened up from sitting all day.  It doesn't have to be very long.  Build 5 or 10 minutes into your morning or evening routine and stick with it.  Before long your muscles will be supple and more able to do the things you ask them to do!  The following link goes to a great article about stretching:

Tailgate Farmer's Marketchair massage

The great weather has also brought about the reopening of the Tailgate Market.  I take my chair over there every Tues. from 4pm until 7pm and Sat. from 9am until 1pm.  If you have any interest at all in going "local" with your purchases - this is the place to go.  Right now the produce is somewhat low since the farmers are still growing, but it is still worth checking out!  We have had some "out of this world" strawberries and the local bakers are wizards with their creations!
Testimonials:

"Just a note to thank you for my massage-it was truly wonderful!  We did heavy yard work the Saturday and Sunday after I saw you and by the end of the weekend I wasn't even the slightest bit sore.  Needless to say, I'm convinced it was because my muscles were so relaxed.  Thank you again for a lovely experience and I hope to see you again soon!"  Robyn Mullis
