Friday, February 3: Members Night in Oz   

5:00-7:00 pm. Extended hours for current Museum members only to enjoy the Wonderful Wizard of Oz Traveling Exhibit and the rest of the Museum. Free for members. Pre-registration not required, but  appreciated (online here or Christina@funmuseum.org).

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz traveling exhibit will open on January 21!

Explore this exhibit comprised of giant pop-up books, each with interactive activities and eye-popping graphics from the original Frank Baum books.  

 

The Wizard of Oz exhibit is ncluded with admission and membership through mid-May.

NOTES    

 

Through the school year, the Mt. LeKid climbing wall will be open Saturdays 11-4:00 and Sundays 1-4:00 (usually no weekdays).   

Weekly Preschool Programs: Wee Move is now on Fridays at 10:30 am, January through May, 2012. Little Learners will continue on Thursdays, but will start at 11:00 am, January-May (both programs are included with Museum admission and do not require pre-registration.

Friday, January 20: NIGHT (out) AT THE MUSEUM, 5:30-8:00 pm for ages 3-11. Parents get a night out on the town...Kids get a night out at the Museum! $10/Member child / $15/Non-Member child. Pre-registration & pre-payment required. Drop off between 5:30 & 6:00, pick up between 7:30 & 8:00 (doors locked 6:00-7:30). Includes supervised Museum exploration & play and games/activities..

January 21: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz traveling exhibit opens! Here through May 21. Included with admission/membership.

Friday, January 27 - Saturday, January 28: Boy Scout Overnight  6 pm Friday to 9 am Saturday. $35 per scout. 1 no-fee adult required per 5 boys. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. Register at Boy Scout office 608-784-4040.

(MEMBERS ONLY!) Friday, February 3: Members Night in Oz, 5:00-7:00 pm. Extended hours for current Museum members only to enjoy the Wonderful Wizard of Oz Traveling Exhibit and the rest of the Museum. This event is generously supported by the Mike & Renee Redman family. No fee, but pre-registration appreciated, at funmuseum.org or by email at christina@funmuseum.org.

Sunday, February 12: Girl Scout Daisy Day with Dorothy, 12-5:00 pm for grade K-1 girl scouts. Make projects, play games, have a snack, climb Mt. LeKid, and explore the Museum, including the Wizard of Oz traveling exhibit. Activities can be used toward "It's Your Story-Tell It" journey award. $12 per scout (1 adult chaperone per 5 girls FREE). Pre-reg. and pre-payment required.

Saturday, February 18: Meet Pet Therapy Dogs, 10-11 am. Free with Museum admission.    

Friday, February 24 - Saturday, February 25: Girl Scout "Night in Oz" Overnight, 6 pm Friday to 9 am Saturday. Make projects, play games, have an evening snack and continental breakfast, climb Mt. LeKid, explore the Museum, including the Wizard of Oz traveling exhibit...AND spend the night in the Museum! Activities can be used toward "It's Your Story-Tell It" journey award, "Media" or "Social Innovator" badges. $26 per scout. 1 no-fee adult required per 5 girls. Pre-registration and pre-payment required.

Saturday, February 25: Happy 13th Birthday Children's Museum + Child Safety Day! Child Safety Day with Gundersen Lutheran from 10 am to 1 pm-half-priced admission + safety games, costumed characters and more. Enjoy party games and more from 1:00 to 5:00 pm (regular admission of $6 per person resumes).

Saturday, March 3: Brunchin' with the Munchkins character breakfast, 8:30 to 10:00 am, with specific breakfast seating times to be announced. This event is generously supported by Dr. Kermit & Barbara Newcomer. Meet and have your photo taken with some of your favorite Wizard of Oz characters (wear your own costume if you wish), enjoy continental breakfast, take home character autographs and a special prize, and explore the Wonderful Wizard of Oz traveling exhibit before the Museum opens to the public for the day. Bring your camera! Prices and registration details to be announced. If interested, email Christina@funmuseum.org
