Greetings!,
COLOR... As an artist, I'm always interested in selecting the most interesting shades and hues for my designs. Color is the building block for everything I create and wear. As I continue to design new jewelry for the Fall/Winter Collection it is all about color, an important aspect of the human expression.
I LOVE color - bright, bold, and energetic! I spend a lot of time contemplating color when designing my creations. Each of my pieces should evoke a mood, a feeling - if it doesn't I have failed at my job as an artist.
Everything I see reminds me of how the color makes me feel. For me, color is an attitude, be it for the day or the week or the month - it's always about color!
Have a colorful day!
Gina

| WHAT COLOR ARE YOU? |
|
|
Color = Mood + You
Have you taken inventory of your closet and your jewelry box lately? Why not let color reflect your mood, every day?
Mood dressers -- I certainly am one -- are people who are in-tune with their emotions and dress accordingly. How do you feel today? Think about the impression you want to make - with color - whether it's a date, lunch or cocktails with friends, an interview, or an important meeting. |

COLOR - Orange, Red, Yellow |
|
Bright and Bold, Sexy and Intense!
Orange - Energetic and Creative. A very high energy color; its creativity juices are extremely intoxicating and sweet tasting. Wearing orange is fun and can make you feel quite playful. Because of its highly-charged intensity some people cannot comfortably wear this color. Adorning yourself with an orange accent piece can add a hint of playfulness; it is associated with vibrant health. It can also - scream with sexual energy too. It has the same vibrational frequency as DNA, the template of all human cells. This color is known to heal shock. Artists love dabbling with orange hues.
Red - Powerful and Confident. A very powerful color, wear it whenever you feel a need to portray confidence or would like to boost your self esteem. However, be aware that wearing too much red can make a person come off a little too intimidating to others who may lack self confidence. Visualizing the color red can help ground your energies. Symbolizing awakening, exuding power, energy, and a passion for life, red is known to heal sexual difficulties and anemia.
Yellow - Cheerful and Happy. The color is perfect whenever your spirits needs an uplifting. Carrying the same healing qualities associated with the sun, it offers warmth, optimism, and light. All shades of yellows and gold's will cheer you up. Wearing yellow out into the world is an affirmative statement. The perky color often worn by entertainers, because it makes them stand out in a crowd and confronts the challenge of being center of attention. Yellow is known to heal the digestive tract. |
| COLOR - Brown, Green, Blue |
|
|
Earthy and Warm... Natural!
Brown - Practical and Down to Earth. Brown represents wholesomeness and earthiness. While it might be considered a little on the dull side, it also represents steadfastness, simplicity, friendliness, dependability, and health. The symbolism of color is based in part on the natural world. Soil offers some insight into the meaning of brown - needed to grow food, without it we would be challenged to find ways to survive. Brown says stability, reliability, and approachability.
Green - Nurturing and Earthy. The color of trees and grasses - a wonderful color choice to wear anytime you want to feel more in-tune with nature, it represents Spring and new growth. Whenever you are embarking on something new or wish to turn over a new leaf wear green. Those seeking their own identity, fulfillment of their heart's desire, and/or are searching for a new direction are drawn to wear this color; by doing so they are challenged to find ways of creating their own abundance. Green heals the heart, eases tension, and regenerates cells.
Blue - Serene and Calm. Wearing ocean hues of blue is calming. Indigo or darker blues can offer more of a comfort zone feeling, almost as if you are sinking into a pool of warm water. "True Blue" symbolizes devotion to duty and is worn by most authority figures - nurses, policemen, etc. Anyone who consistently wears blue is a deep thinker and tends to re-energize by seeking their own company above that of others. |
| COLOR - Purple, Pink |
|
|
Feminine Appeal... Loving!
Pink - Open Heart and Unconditional Love. Conveying compassion and an open heart, most people associate pink with babies, little girls, and feminine energies. When people are wearing pink, whether they are male or female, they appear approachable and capable of loving others. If you want to feel heart-connected reach for that pastel pink sweater from your closet to wear - if pastel colors don't suit you try on something in bright fuchsia - you'll feel pretty in pink. Wearing pink encourages a sense of affection, increases sensitivity, and challenges you to confront your vulnerabilities.
Purple - Unique and Special. Seldom worn as a neutral color, the color purple, especially shades of violet, will definitely make a statement; it shows others that you want to be noticed. If it is your desire to feel special and unique then purple is the right color choice. If you would like to send a message out into the world that you're one-of-a-kind, that you could care less about conformity, wear purple. Violet can indicate major change and a need to retreat, as a caterpillar retreats into a cocoon before it transforms into a butterfly. |

COLOR - White, Black, Gray |
|
|
Neutral - What a Compliment!
White - New Beginning and Cleansing. Reducing disappointment or drudge, wearing it can offer a fresh and bright outlook, an opportunity to start the day with a clean slate. White aids in mental clarity, encouraging us to clear clutter or obstacles, it projects purity, cleanliness, chastity, innocence and neutrality. Doctors don white coats, brides traditionally wear white gowns and a white picket fence surrounds a safe and happy home. White reflects light, but gives the feeling of coolness, that's why it is the favorite color for hot climates.
Gray - Compromise and Control. Gray is the color of intellect, knowledge, and wisdom. Timeless, practical, and solid - a longstanding favorite suit color - gray can mix well with any color. Although well liked and often worn, people rarely name gray as a favorite color possibly because gray also is associated with loss or depression. It is perceived as long-lasting, classic and often as sleek or refined, a color that is dignified, conservative, and carries authority. Gray is controlled and inconspicuous and is considered a color of compromise, perhaps because it sits between the extremes of black and white. Gray is a perfect neutral, which is why designers often use it as a background color. Black - Unrealized Potential. Authoritative and powerful, a classic for clothing because it makes the wearer appear thinner and more sophisticated. The popular non-color is often worn to suppress and protect the emotions. Combined with another color it augurs control over its influence. With red it controls physical power, with yellow intellectual power. Black is a fashion basic... Wearing black will allow you to keep a low-profile in social settings if that is your intention. |
| COLOR OF THE YEAR: 2009 |
|
DID YOU KNOW...
MIMOSA (PANTONE 14-0848) was selected by Pantone, the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, as the color of the year.
Mimosa is a warm, engaging yellow. In a time of economic uncertainty and political change, optimism is paramount and no other color expresses hope and reassurance more than yellow.
"The color yellow exemplifies the warmth and nurturing quality of the sun, properties we as humans are naturally drawn to for reassurance," explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. "Mimosa also speaks to enlightenment, as it is a hue that sparks imagination and innovation."
