Birthstones are gemstones that are associated with each month. They may be precious stones, such as diamonds, or semi-precious/colored stones, such as Lapiz Lazuli. In each case they are considered lucky for their particular months; for those who believe in such things, their healing powers are heightened during their months. Birthstones are also a fun way to share something about yourself.
What if you don't like your birthstone? What if you were born in August, but you're just not a big fan of peridot? Take heart - there are alternative birthstones for all months.
