I'm very excited about my collections: Retro Chic, Everyday Glamour, Jewel Drops, and the 'bejeweled' BRB (be right back) Bookmarks.
I'm so delighted with the results; I'm giving them away, that's right - FREE JEWELRY!!! (See "June Contest" below for your chance to win.)
Each collection is a themed assortment of one-of-a-kinds that reflect the style and attitude bearing its name. While the BRB's aren't wearable jewelry, they carry forward the essence of 'bejeweled'. They are fun and funky, definitely interesting conversation pieces - they simply hang around waiting to be noticed!
Don't forget to always check the "Event Guide" and remember to bring along your coupon. Don't worry if you can't attend - though you'll miss out on the newest of the new - you can always browse the online store or see new designs at one of the invitation-only "Juleps & Gems" Parties. Contact me for "Juleps & Gems" details.
I love hearing from you, please keep those emails coming! Don't forget to send your 'bejeweled' photos, I will post a few in future issues, why not offer your suggestions too! Tell me what kind of items you'd like to see for my 2008 Fall/Winter Collection - scarf pins/brooches, ankle bracelets, bra straps, men's jewelry, pendants, jewelry for you and your pets?... the only limitation is our imagination!
Feedback is very important! Many thanks to all who have shared their thoughts, recommendations and ideas, I am forever grateful for your input.
I hope you have enjoyed being 'bejeweled'...by Gina. I'm headed back to the studio to design more items.
Thanks again for subscribing!

As a performer, I am always looking for unique, one-of-a-kind pieces and I've struck pure gold on your site. Bejeweled by Gina is the place to find that something special for every occasion. The jewelry is elegant, sophisticated and classic. The designs are sure to become staples of my wardrobe. Thank you so much for your great imagination and bringing your artistic genius to life through your jewelry. ~ Sandra B., Jazz Vocalist, Los Angeles (CA)
I own several pieces of jewelry from 'Bejeweled by Gina' and each piece is an original work of art. The materials that Gina uses - from hot pink jade to bronze fresh water pearls - are just incredible. Last weekend I attended a cocktail party and wore the amber Swarovski crystal set (necklace, bracelet & earrings) that was made especially for my daughter's wedding last year. I received so many compliments on the jewelry that I lost count! What I love most of all is that each piece is custom made; and I won't ever see someone else wearing MY jewelry! Everyone wants to know, "Where did you get it?" I can't wait to get my next piece. ~ Rhonda S., Acton (MA)
I love your jewelry! I received a pair of earrings as a present and truly enjoy wearing them - they're my favorite earrings right now! Your pieces are very simple, unique and beautiful. There's something special about wearing hand crafted jewelry, it feels like it's meant just for you and only you. Thank you! ~ Yee I., Los Angeles (CA)
I just took a couple of minutes to visit the site and enjoyed learning about your, and your family's, background in art and fashion. I'll also be ordering something for my wife, Kristen, in the next day or so. She'll love picking something out. ~ Larry M., Pasadena (CA) |

Raising the Bar... On Style
by Devra Hall Levy

When I left New York 30+ years ago I left behind my cosmo-chic. When I became a full-time writer, my office clothes languished in the closet to become moth fodder. Most of the writers I know work at home in various states of dress down rather than dress up. You might find me at my desk in bathrobe and fuzzy slippers, or in sweats, or maybe jeans. I do have some other clothes in my closet but they seldom see the streets, so a jewelry collection has never been a priority -- after all, Danielle Steele or Jackie Collins I am not. At least that's how it used to be.
The tides turned when I was preparing to accompany my husband to New York where he was to receive an award. I wanted to look good, but I wasn't about to buy a new wardrobe. Gina came to my house, looked through my closet, and showed me how a scarf here and a pin there, or an earring and pendant set could transform a simple ensemble from drab into dramatic. A small adornment and a little color makes a big difference, Gina told me. I was skeptical, but she was right. I had been prone to the monochromatic, but when I saw the results I suddenly craved color and was delighted to find that, just like the old Brill Cream commercial said, "a little dab will do you."
Not only did the transformation make me feel good, but it also turned out to be helpful in my work. Gina's pieces never fail to elicit comment from friends and strangers alike. A good conversation piece is a terrific ice-breaker that sets my interviewees at ease. I now have a two pairs of stand-alone earrings and four earring/pendant sets. I used to have five but a friend admired one so much that I gave it to her for her birthday -- after all, with one of a kind, you can't buy a duplicate.
Bejeweled By Gina has changed my outlook and now, even when headed for the grocery store, I am more likely than not to Be Jeweled...by Gina.

NIGHT & DAY... You are the One!
I love Cole Porter songs, they're romantic, inviting and have a certain air of mesmerizing intrigue. You may ask, "What's that got to do with jewelry?" Everything!
You're at work, smartly dressed for the day and suddenly the phone rings...an invitation - for cocktails and dinner!
When you live in L.A., attire often doesn't matter - here "casual' is 24/7 far too often. Why? It's not just the sizzling sun and summer heat, I think we've all become too lazy to be chic.
It's a new year, why not create a new you! As the temperatures rise, let's bring on more sophistication... Here are a quick pick of six great ideas.
· The "Business" Suit. Think updated comfortable, color and modern! It shouldn't be boring, just because you're in the boardroom. What's perfect for day, can be stylish at night: slip into a lacy camisole or billowy top, slide on a pair of sling-backs in a bright color, add an interesting WOW piece of jewelry, and you're ready to go...anywhere!
· The "Office" Dress. This season's great dresses can play double duty - whether you wear the little black stunner under your conservative belted jacket or the body hugging red wrap dress hidden by a demure waist-cinching sweater - you'll be prepared for any occasion. At night: change into a pair of sexy shoulder-dusting earrings, a simple sparkly neck teaser and a hint of alluring fire-red lipstick... Va Va Va Voom!
· Sleek, Fitted Pants. Toss the elastic waistbands and get fitted! A must-have staple... comfortable and available in every color and price range. Paired with a simple top - it's office appropriate - at nightfall, turn up the heat and go glam-wild with a frilly, sexy ruffled top, a sparkle of "I'm here" jewelry, and you'll stand out in the crowd wherever you go.
· The Trench Coat. It's gone high fashion, it's not just to keep you warm and dry anymore. Depending on the fabric, it can take you from day to night in an instant. In bright colors, silk or brocade, it's the perfect outwear. Paired with evening trousers or jeans, and multiple strands of mix-and match pearls or a bold statement necklace, you've gone from demure to dramatic!
Enjoy the New You,

| THE HOTTEST TREND THIS YEAR... |

Jewelry - The One Accessory That Will Never Go Out of Style!
2008 will be big with bright, beautiful fashion necklaces, laced with color upon color. Everywhere you go you'll be noticed!
Bold statement pieces will be seen everywhere... Black and white combinations, neon colors, cubic zirconia and sterling silver designs...
The trend is about shine... To add some glimmer to your wardrobe, consider the beautiful and affordable option of cubic zirconia. The most versatile choice is clear, but every color of the rainbow is available in this popular faux diamond - from blues to yellow, and even black, the shades of CZ's are created to imitate the look of flawless gemstones. Try a piece or two, you'll love the compliments you receive!
It's all about wearing less jewelry, but being bolder and more unique. Think show-stopping "WOW, where did you find that?" pieces and one-of-a-kind creations.
... INSIDER'S TIP ...
It's rumored that one of this year's
hottest colors will be yellow. |

DOES COLOR AFFECT THE SENSES? |
|
Most Of Us Have No Idea The Impact Color Has On Our Lives...
Color is all around us, color is energy. We see it all the time. This impact of the many colors in our environment is usually not conscious. Sometimes we get an uneasy feeling in certain rooms or very relaxed in another - it's the "color mood."
Do you take color for granted? I can paint my bathroom, bedroom or kitchen, red, yellow or blue.... The color can have a very definite effect!
Did you know, paint companies may hire paint psychologists to advise what shades of colors will sell best? Color psychologists working in the decorating, packaging and fashion industries, affect decisions on what you buy!
There even are laboratory experiments about the affect of color on the state of a person's health! Think about it...what color is your doctor's office, home, car, your office... how does it affect you?
Many people believe that colors possess power, and that colored stones are especially powerful.
Here are some of the more widely accepted meanings of colors and the energies contained in their corresponding stones.
· Red: action, confidence, courage, vitality
· Pink: love, beauty
· Brown: earth, order, convention
· Orange: vitality with endurance
· Yellow: joy, happiness, intellectual energy
· Blue: youth, spirituality, truth, peace
· Green: life, nature, fertility, well being
· Purple: royalty, magic, mystery
· Indigo: intuition, meditation, deep contemplation
· White: purity, Cleanliness
· Black: death, earth, stability
· Gray: sorrow, security, maturity
· Gold: wealth, prosperity, wisdom |

Ornamentation, Sacred Meaning, or Symbol of Power?
If you are fascinated by lore, use stones for healing or metaphysical purposes, here are a few interesting tidbits.
June - Alexandrite / Pearl / Moonstone
Did you know Alexandrite was discovered on the birthday of the Russian Czar Alexander II, and it was named in his honor? It's a very rare stone; it changes color depending on whether it is viewed in natural or artificial light.
Folklore suggests that Alexandrite will stimulate pleasure and love. It is also used as a lucky stone. Pearl signifies faith and helps one to focus, providing a vehicle for advancing states of wisdom to receive spiritual guidance. Historically symbolic of purity, innocence and faith, pearls enhance personal integrity and help clear the mind, enhances sincerity, truth and loyalty, and bring calming reflection. Pearls are a good stone for fertility as well as birthing. Moonstone promotes intuition, helps emotional tension and enhances creativity. Some believe the stones energy relates to new beginnings and helps one to understand their destiny; it provides a connection to our physical, emotional and intellectual bodies to help us remove obstacles and progress on our paths while giving guidance. Popular early in the 20th century, Moonstone was extensively used in Art Nouveau jewelry.
Birthstones for the coming months: (Traditional/Alternate): July: Ruby/Carnelian, August: Peridot/Sardonyx, September: Sapphire/Lapis Lazuli,
October: Opal/Tourmaline, November: Topaz/Citrine, December: Tanzanite/Zircon, Turquoise | |
