Class Focus: Pilates Equipment Classes
What are the benefits of Pilates Equipment vs. Mat? How do I get started in a Pilates equipment class? Here are your answers:
Pilates equipment classes work a little differently than the mat classes. First of all the instructor does not participate in the class, giving each of the 6 participants individualized attention based on their specific abilities and goals. In a Pilates mat class, the focus is mainly on the core, specifically the abdominal and back muscles. Using the Pilates equipment not only works the core, but it gives us the ability to challenge the arms and legs using the resistance from the equipment. There are many benefits to trying out the Pilates equipment - it can not only add additional challenge to your workouts, but it can also help control your form in the more challenging mat exercises as well as enhance stretching. In fact, one aspect of Equipment Classes that most amazes our clients is how they can feel extremely challenged as well as stretched out and relaxed at the end of a class.

Another EVOLUTION Success Story:
Join us in congratulating Joseph Linhares, one of our many clients who has reached his goals through hard work, education, and staying healthy through proper nutrition and exercise.
Joseph's story started at age 14, when he weighed 218 lbs. After his pediatrician told him he was at risk for diabetes and recommended he see a  dietitian, Joseph came to see EVOLUTION's Kali Garges. After learning about healthy choices,
portion sizes, and sugary drinks, Joseph has lost
a total of 45 lbs. and walks around with much
