March is supposed to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb.  In recent years, it seems that phrase better describes April than March, as it's still pretty much winter in my book. 
 
Gray skies aside, there is always something to brighten your day at EVOLUTION.  Check out the new classes in both studios and the new nutrition and family programming below.  Drive the winter doldrums into hibernation and get yourself ready to spring ahead!
 
This month we celebrate National Nutrition Month.   Take this opportunity to evaluate the food you put into your body and make smarter choices for yourself and your family.  Consider joining a Nutrition Boot Camp program to learn the science behind your diet and how small changes can make a huge difference.
 
We want to point out that March 10th is the first ever Registered Dietitian Day!  The American Dietitic Association wants to recognize the nation's food and nutrition experts and we especially want to thank our Nutrition Director, Emily Gedney, for her work to improve the lives of her patients and the community.

Nutrition Boot Camp for Families
 
This is a 10-week interactive nutrition class that will leave your family eating and living healthier than ever!  The classes are designed to empower children to try new foods while achieving and maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. 
 
This program is appropriate for parents and children between the ages of 9 and 13.  Begins on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 10:00 am. For more information, or to register for this program, call 401-396-9331 or email info@evolutionri.com.
 
 
Pilates Boot Camp & Group Circuit Updates 
 
In March, we continue to take two of our Pilates Group Circuit Classes and open them up to Beginners.  If you have already completed the required private Pilates sessions, sign up and give it a try!

  • Saturday March 29th at 8:30 am
This month we are offering our Pilates Boot Camp class on:
  • Sunday March 9th at 9:30 am and....

More Hot Yoga!
 
We have added yet another All Levels Power Yoga (HOT) class to our schedule for March.  Saturday mornings from 8:00 - 9:30 am you can get a whole body workout that will last you through the weekend!  THIS CLASS BEGINS ON MARCH 15, 2008!
 
yogawomanWe have changed the names of our Hot Yoga classes to All Levels Power Yoga (HOT) to reflect the audiences' needs.  Our instructors adjust classes to meet the participants abilities so you should feel comfortable and welcome at ANY of the sessions.
 
Therefore, our new All Levels Power Yoga (HOT) schedule:
 
Mondays at 5:30 pm
Mondays at 7:30 pm
 
Wednesdays at 5:30 pm
Wednesdays at 7:30 pm
 
Fridays at 5:30 pm  Express (1 hour)
 
Saturdays at 8:00 am (Beginning March 15, 2008)
 
 
Taking it to the Mat!
 
boatposeOne amazing workout deserves another.  In order to create a great balance between our Yoga and Pilates classes, as well as our Pilates equipment and Pilates Mat classes, we have tweaked our schedule in Studio C.  You can now find NINE different Mat classes guaranteed to strengthen, lengthen, challenge and charge your body.
 
Our Pilates Mat schedule:
 
Tuesdays at 10:00 am
Tuesdays at 6:30 pm
 
Wednesdays at 7:00 am
Wednesdays at 8:00 am
 
Thursdays at 10:00 am
Thursdays at 5:30 pm (includes AIS)
 
Fridays at 7:00 am
Fridays at 8:00 am
 
Saturdays at 10:00 am
 
Please note:  Both of our Thursday classes are FREE to Bristol Total Fitness members with a valid ID.

From the Pilates Studio
 
 
Reformer Focus Class: pilateschair
Slim & Slender Arms!
 
This month's Reformer Focus classes will concentrate on the arms.  In these focus classes we will give you a great overall workout with an emphasis on creating strong but slender arms.  
 
Reformer Focus Classes meet on
Monday and Wednesday nights at 5:30 pm.
 
Bring it to the Mat 
 
We are now offering Pilates Mat classes in Studio C.   These mat based classes will take core training to the next level.   During these classes we will also utilize small equipment such as stability balls, pilates rings, weighted balls, and bands to further challenge the body.   If you are looking to change up your workouts or add in something to complement your Reformer or Yoga practice - this is it!

In order to give each participant focused attention from our instructors, we are limiting our class size to 10 participants.  Please schedule accordingly.  You can sign-up for these mat classes by calling the studio or through our online scheduler.

This is a six week series.
 
Both programs are $72 for a 6-week series, or $15 to drop-in on a space available basis.
