Dear Missions Partner,
What a blessed time we had with Guillermo and his brother Abner on their recent visit to the States. They arrived on August 19th and stayed until the 29th. Guillermo brought a strong message which he shared at Duncan First Baptist in Duncan South Carolina, Grassy Pond Baptist in Gaffney South carolina, and Gowensville Baptist in Landrum South Carolina. Many of our partnering churches attended these services. Thank you for your support. Guillermo and Abner also attended the First Baptist North Spartanburg Missions Conference; this is one of our strongest supporting churches.
As I drove them to the airport they shared with me what a great time they had seeing so many friends, and how they were now charged up and ready to go back to the mission field. As you read the testimonies you will clearly see all the staff and missionaries are committed to making every day count. Thank you for all you do in praying, going, and giving! Although the summer months are now behind us we still have 7 more teams to go in order to finish out the year 2011.
The Christmas trip is scheduled for December
10-17, and we would love to have you join us! You can contact our US office by phone: 864.599.0067 or by e-mail: amber@chosenchildrenministries.org.
In Christ,
Wallace Nix
Executive Director
P.S. We have received so many requests for CCM to bring Guillermo and his staff to the states for a revival and banquet. We are now in the beginning stages of planning this event. We will be sure and keep you posted!

Prayer Requests
New children are arriving
at our Mephibosheth orphanage. Please pray God will move the hearts of people to sponsor these chilren.
CCM supports 13 barrio pastors and churches in Nicaragua. Pray for these young churches and their continued support and growth.
Our Mephiobsheth orphanage needs a better and larger van. Therefore, one of the CCM regular ministry vans is being given to the orphanage. Please pray God will provide a another ministry van which is so vital to our CCM staff and teams in order to travel to the many barrios.

Dave Walton's Team

I want to thank Chosen Children Ministries; (CCM) and the staff of workers on the ground in Nicaragua who really helped us minister to the hurting, lonely, and hungry at the trash dump. Our team of 18 said," they have never felt the presence of the Lord more powerful than that day we arrived to give out groceries to the people and to love on them as Jesus would." One lady came to me at the trash dump with tears in her eyes and said, I have been praying to God for 4 days to please send someone with food because we have no food to eat." I said to her, God has heard your prayers."
We are also thankful for the opportunity that CCM provides for us in conducting revivals in the churches. At Marvin our team carried the sound board, instruments and speakers for a quarter of a mile in the mud only to find the church filled and the people waiting with great anticipation to hear the word of God preached. Several members of our team were totally changed as they saw the people worship God. One member of the team said," in America I pray to God but in Nicaragua I saw God."
I cannot thank the Nicaraguan Staff enough for their never wearying dedication for the work of the Lord and the love shown to us while being there. Thank you Wallace and Kim Nix for your love for the Nicaraguan people, and thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your ministry. It has changed all of our lives!

First North Singles
Spartanburg, SC
The Singles Ministry from FBNS recently made a return trip to Nicaragua to work with Chosen Children Ministries (CCM.) What a blessing it was to be a part of God's work in Nicaragua!
We've learned the secret to a successful mission trip is flexibility, so we went with that objective in mind. Each day presented new opportunities to be with the people of Nicaragua and to share the story of God's love for them through Jesus Christ. We knew that our tasks would include building a new home for a family, door-to-door evangelism, VBS, Men's Bible Study, and Women's Bible Study. With our backpacks loaded with hygiene kits, Gospel bracelets and our bibles, we set out each morning for our destinations.
In San Brano, we began construction on a new home. At the same time, our teams divided up and began surveying the neighborhoo d to invite people to the Bible Studies and VBS. We also took this time to visit in homes to share the Gospel. The people in San Brano were very hospitable and engaging. In fact, one of our teams was invited to visit the local school and shared the Gospel, class by class, from kindergarten to 6th grade...Wow!
On Wednesday, we were headed to Cristo Rey. This was an interesting day. The drive to this barrio was about an hour and a half, one way and the roads were very rough, but once we arrived, the trip there was the last thing on our mind. Regardless of time, the Lord was faithful to lead us to some individuals who needed to hear that God loves them and wants to know them personally. We also were privileged to work with Pastor Omar and help bring credibility to his ministry in Cristo Rey.
We wrapped up our ministry with a trip to the Casa Mephibosheth Orphanage. What a blessing to play soccer and other games with the children. While your heart breaks for them not having a genuine family, it was encouraging to see how the Lord has protected and provided for them. After being in the barrios, it was clear that they were blessed to be in a place where they had clothes, shelter and food.
This experience was one to value as it revealed the need for people to have hope. Many of the people we encountered had none. That's why it's important that we go. We realized that even though we could not speak the language, our presence allowed CCM and their staff a platform to share the Gospel. Our being there opened doors that may not have been open and thus the Gospel was proclaimed to people who needed to hear it. We rejoice in thanksgiving for the Lord Jesus Christ allowing us to be a small part of 31 men, women and children giving
their lives to Him.

Our trip to Nicaragua was fantastic! We had 23 team members, with this being the 1st trip for some and the 6th trip for others. We love Nicaragua, its people and working with Chosen Children Ministries. During this trip we were very busy. We were able to put the roof on 4 school rooms, 2 in Paradise and 2 in Cristo Rey. We got to teach the kids Bible stories in both of these areas, and give out hygiene bags in Paradise. In our "spare" time we made some minor repairs to some individual homes. Twice we got to see God work when we were giving out bread for the children to eat. Both times we gave out our last piece of bread to the last child present. Our team also had the privilege of being the 1st to use the new well drilling machine in the rural area of Las Parceles. Some members of our team worked all week at the site drilling the well. I can't imagine not having good clean water to drink, and I hope the people of Las Parcels never have to worry about it again. Toward the end of the week, we were also able to visit the orphanage in Juigalpa and spend some time with the children there. It was great seeing the kids, but it went by too quickly. Finally, on our last day, our whole team was back together again. We all went out to the well drilling site, where we gave out clothes; shoes, hygiene bags, and food bags that we had discovered were much needed. By the end of the week, many had made decisions to give their hearts and lives to Christ, and even more seeds were sown. When it was time to leave, all any of us could think about was when we were coming back, so we started talking about plans for the next trip. It is hard to leave when you can see so much that still needs to be done, but as long as God is willing to use us in Nicaragua we will be willing to do what we can one week at a time.

I was fortunate to lead our 2011 team to serve with Chosen Children Ministries; (CCM) and what a wonderful week of ministry we shared together. Our 21 member team shared many experiences from feeding and evangelism ministry in the Flags where 10 people gave their hearts to Christ as well as construction at Light of Hope Church in Emmanuel. We did children's ministry in every community. Our team had a wonderful time sharing the love of Christ with the children of Nicaragua.
The highlight of our trip was the opportunity the Lord gave us to minister in the community of the Parcels Barrio. We were fortunate to complete the first well CCM has installed and dedicate the church in the Parcels. Until Wednesday, August 3rd, the 120 families in the Parcels had to go 4 miles to get clean water. Not anymore! We were able to complete the well that other teams drilled the previous week and set the pump so that the people of the Parcels now have fresh water to drink! We celebrated the Lord's blessings with them and encouraged them to continue to trust in the Lord. We reminded the people of the Parcels that physical water only quenches our thirst temporarily but the Living Water the Lord Jesus Christ provides us with will quench our thirst for eternity!
What a marvelous God we serve! May the Lord continue to bless the CCM staff as they minister to the people of Nicaragua. WOM and Hopewell can't wait to come back next year to serve again.

Sports Team
Spartanburg, SC
I have known Wallace for 10+ years having been called out of the same church to full time ministry about the same time. We have tried to work out the logistics to get down to Nicaragua for several years and I am so glad we were finally able to! We brought 10 softball/basketball and; unexpectedly, soccer players to work with Chosen Children Ministries; (CCM) August 1-8. We played in the barrios, we played in the city, we even played in a pasture -- all in an effort to draw a crowd and share the Gospel.
Now the work we do as Impact Sports doesn't perfectly match with the normal work that CCM does. In fact, we were the first purely sports team to ever partner with CCM. However, it was awesome to see once again how God uses the different parts of His "team" to accomplish His purpose. We were able to meet and share the Truth with people that aren't the normal audience CCM serves. God used our area of expertise to connect with CCM's ministry, and then used them both for His glory! We discovered during our time there that our particular style of ministry was better suited for city evangelism. As proof of God's sovereignty and wisdom, after our first few unexpected efforts in the city seeing people come to Christ, Wallace shared with me that they had been praying for a couple of years for a way to reach the urban population!
Because of this new partnership in Nicaragua, of ministries whose main offices are only miles apart in Spartanburg, SC, we have new brothers and sisters in Christ, and I am looking forward to many more opportunities to serve together. Thank you Chosen Children Ministries for what you do.

"No place I would rather be, than here in your love, so set a fire down in my soul that I can't contain and I can't control". These lyrics are from United Pursuit's "Set a Fire". On our first night in León as we set under the thatched roof singing this song, it became very apparent that this was to be the prayer of each member of our mission team throughout the week.
This mission began as many others have by planning, training, praying, fasting, doing all the things we are supposed to do to be ready. Then after a rather frustrating day of travel, Guillermo informs us "plans have changed". What about all the planning "we" had done? "We" weren't prepared for what was being asked. Soon we were to realize just how much better God's plans were than ours. We had planned to go to Milagro de Dios, working with about 75 kids, 40 or so women and doing some "light" construction. God had another plan.
On the bus ride from the airport, Guillermo asked if we could help rebuild Pastor Irving's house in Salinas Grande requiring welding, masonry, and much heavier construction than we had planned. God however, was ready. He had placed in our team 3 welders, a couple of carpenters and builders. Next we were asked if we could put together a men's Bible study. Again "we" hadn't planned for this, but God had. Some of the men in our group had recently finished putting together a Bible study for their church. This study would be perfect for what was needed. I could tell of many experiences of how "we" weren't prepared to play soccer, but somehow won two games while creating friendships that will last a lifetime.
Time after time throughout the week we experienced God's perfect plan in our lives as well as the beautiful people of Salinas Grande, all in spite of our planning. On the first day we had around 50 women in the Women's Bible study, 90 kids at VBS, and 24 men at the Men's Bible study. By the last day, God sent 91 Women, 137 kids, and 51 men. There were 6 salvations we know of with many more rededicating their lives to God. It was amazing to see every day how God took materials planned for 85 kids and stretched them to be enough for 137. We discovered that our great God is still performing miracles every day and to be a part of them, all we need to do is be available. God did set a fire in our souls that can't be contained or controlled. Speaking for the team, there is no place I'd rather be!

"Pig out BBQ" was not the only blessing.
God loved on me and my brother Abner on the trip we did to South Carolina this past 19th of August, through the care of precious brothers and sisters from different churches.
It was a lot of fun to see Abner for the first time on a plane, looking through the window amazed, but at the same time scared of the possibility that the plane would not take off or fall once air born. Once in the US he was amazed of the road system and the amount of food they served us in every meal. We decided that our favorite dish was: "BBQ pulled pork and ribs". ! What a blessing!
God allowed Brother Wallace Nix, sister Kim; his wife, my brother and me to visit First Baptist Duncan on Sunday morning, Grassy Pond Baptist on Sunday night and Gowensville Baptist on Wednesday night. God gave me the privilege and honor to preach His Word in these three churches where, I believe, His name was exalted. The rest of the week we had the privilege to be part of the Global Impact Conference at First Baptist North Spartanburg, where God reminded all of us that missions, is in His heart, and that the Church is wise when she obeys "the Great commission."
I'd like to thank all of those who took care of us while we were there, and all of those who came to see us. It was really good to see you all.
May God continue to bless you.
I love you in the Lord.
Guillermo Morales.
