Dear Friend & Partner,
Thank you to our last three mission teams for the outstanding job they did during their time on the mission field of Nicaragua. Kim and I had the pleasure of meeting the Ward Presbyterian team from Michigan who has partnered with CCM for the last ten years. Pastor Dick and every member on the team did a great job. Kim and I were members of the First North Seniors team; a team of 18 who were prepared to serve in Nicaragua at every opportunity. We had the pleasure of having both our Sunday school teachers on this team. It is always good to serve with our friends from home. Thank you, First North, for your twelve years of partnering with us. Whether meeting new friends are joining those we have known for years, being a part of God's kingdom of believers is a blessing, and it is a reminder that God is working around the world through people just like you and me. Thank you to all who go, give, and pray. Wallace Nix Executive Director Chosen Children Ministries . |

Lake Bowen Baptist - Inman, SC God put together a great team and planned work made just for us. The team consisted of a pastor, electricians, engineers, teachers, lawyers, cabinet makers, body repair personnel, maintenance workers, brick masons and more. The group was not a specialized group in any sense of the word. The work we were privileged enough to do included the pouring of a concrete driveway, several plumbing projects, well repair, refinishing of doors, building a latrine, building a shower house, wiring 3 houses, having numerous VBS sessions and several men's groups. We would get together after the "work" day was done and have discussions about the Bible or how God might be working in our lives. All of theses things were great, and we all got joy from doing all of the physical work. Yet, the greatest joy came from none of these. The greatest joy came from the look of the kids faces when you would play with them and spend time with them. It came seeing the joy of the people in the barrios when we would just help them pump water. It came when someone would receive Christ as their Savior. This is what really made our trip special. It was the first time in Nicaragua for several of us, but judging by the relationships made with the wonderful people of that country, it won't be our last if it's God's will.

First North Seniors - Spartanburg, SC

A very excited team of eighteen left for Nicaragua on Thursday, February 10, 2011, with high expectations of God using them in a mighty way to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, help feed the hungry, and work on homes and a school. We were not disappointed! Every team member felt God's Spirit enabling all of us to work beyond our abilities, share with boldness, and get out of our comfort zones to feed, hug, and love the precious people of Nicaragua.
Three new Team Members were with us this year and agreed with all of us how blessed we were to be a part of the work going on with CCM. The Flags barrio was visited this trip where we completed a school for the children, built a home for one of the leaders in the community, held Bible School for the children, did a ladies Bible Study, worshiped with them on Sunday morning under the trees, and then had the

privilege to serve lunch to over four hundred people (and seconds for most)! An othernew area to us was the "Dump" where all of our hearts were touched as we watched people going through trash to find something to save. We rejoiced as Brother Dave Walton shared the Gospel in the middle of a dirt road with men, women and children of all ages. We wept with them when many broke into tears, hungry for the Hope found In Jesus. We were able to give out food bags to each family represented. It was a week to remember with many wonderful things happening at so many places. We give God all Praise, Honor and Glory for allowing us to be a small part to draw people into His Kingdom. To Wallace, Kim and the entire staff of CCM - Love and Blessings! We can't wait to start planning another trip!!!

Ward Presbyterian - Northville, MI We all know we have an awesome God, but we still are amazed when we see Him in action. The experiences we had this week are almost hard to describe. We were so privileged to serve our Lord by ministering to the people in Nicaragua. We started our week in the Flags barrio. The people there had started the structure of a school. Some of our team worked along side of the men in the barrio and were able to complete the roof of the school. It is nice to know that now the children will not have to go far to attend school. About 150 bags of food were distributed to the most needy and we were able to perform "Daniel and the Lions" skit for the children. We definitely are not professional actors, but I think the children enjoyed our skit. They especially liked the lions.J I met with a few women in the community and shared Ruth's story in the Bible with them. We wanted to give them encouragement and let them know that God loves them and will take care of them. Although the Flags barrio is a new community, it is evident that God is ready to do good things there. Two people came to know the Lord as their Savior while we were there. At the Casa Mephibosheth orphanage, the kids were as excited to see us, as we were to see them. We have been going there for years and many of us have sponsored children there. There is a new ministry starting at the orphanage and we were blessed to be apart of it. An eleven or twelve year old girl arrived along with her two month old baby right before we got there. She has a sad story to tell, but she and her baby will be loved beyond her imagination at the orphanage. We were able to purchase a crib for little Rosa. There are now two mothers with babies and we can see that God is at work with this ministry. At the nursing home that is located close to the orphanage, Guillermo and Carlos sang for the residents and some of the residents joined with them. What a blessing to see their faces. Pastor Dick spoke to them about God's love for them. When he had finished speaking to them, at least twelve people had given their lives to Christ. What an awesome God we have. We were able to provide some chicken for them and some medicine and vitamins. This is only the second time we were able to visit with them, but hope we will be able to visit them often. We also visited two new communities where we were able to give out bags of food. These are barrios that CCM has been visiting and hope to establish churches someday. This is always a wonderful experience for us. We then went to Las Torres to give out more food. We have been going to this barrio for a few years and love to see the changes that God is doing through Pastor Luder and his family. On our team was Pastor Dick, who had been teaching earlier in the week at the Bible Institute, was also asked to preach at the church next to the orphanage. He is a wonderful preacher. At least two people received Christ. We gave out food there also. Candy, coloring books and crayons were given to the kids throughout the week as well.
Again, what an awesome God we have! What a privilege to serve him. ~ Sharon Zieglar

Prayer Requests
Water for All
Thank you to all of you who gave toward the purchase of a well drilling rig for Nicaragua. At this very moment, the rig is on a ship heading for Nicaragua. Please pray for the safe delivery of this precious cargo to our Masaya campus and for all the opportunities God will give CCM to help drill for physical water and share the Living Water with needy families in barrios throughout Nicaragua.
Transportation for Mephibosheth Orphanage
CCM buses and vans are used to carry teams and supplies on the many difficult roads into thebarrios in which CCM ministers. We are giving our 2006 Toyota team van to our Mephibosheth orphanage to replace an older model van the orphanage had been using to transport children to school and pickup supplies from Managua. As a result, we now need a new team van that can travel the sometimes harsh road conditions into the barrios. We ask you prayerfully consider being a part of meeting this need. YOu can send a gift of any amount to our US office at PO Box 126, Inman, SC 29349 and indicate your gift is for CCM Van. |
