Distruction after tornado hits Paradise barrio.

Dear CCM Friend and Partner

Kim and I joined a team of twelve well-prepared short term missionaries ready to serve from First Baptist Fort Mill on April 9th.   Through this team God did so much!

During the week the gospel was shared many times  and 50 Bibles were distributed.  Bart Nicholson headed up the door-to-door evangelism and did a wonderful  job explaining to families God is the one from whom all blessings come.
"The gospel must first be preached  to all the  nations."
    ~ Mark 13:10

One construction team led by Carl Catoe  constructed the youth dorm rooms at the Masaya Campus for the older girls from the orphanage we are now helping to make the transition from the orphanage into society.
" Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress ..."
 ~  James 1:27

A second construction team led by Ronnie Mackey built the pastor's house in Marvin, laid the block for the Marvin church, and built doors and windows for both projects.
"...I will show you my faith by my works."  ~ James 2:18

Classes for barrio pastors and leaders were taught at the Leon and Masaya campuses by Shannon Ford.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..."
  ~ Matthew 28:19

Ladies of the barrio churches were instructed in how to make coffe bags, note cards, tote bags, and jewelry to help support their families and the local church by Elizabeth Ford.  The Fort MIll team also provided three sewing machines to be used by the churches in Leon and Marvin barrios and the Masaya campus.
"...But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.  Give her the product of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates."   Proverbs 31:30-31

Children enjoyed listening to Bible stories, singing songs, and doing crafts as part of the ministry to children led by Jessica Threatt.
"But Jesus called for them, saying, "Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  ~ Luke 18:16

Many other acts of ministry were provided by Steve, Carol, Dennis, Ron, Austin, Glenn, and Brian who helped do it all.  Each member of this team worked so hard.  CCM is blessed to have such missionaries, and Kim and I were blessed to be helpers on this team.

Thank you John and Julie Smoak for helping in so many areas.

God bless,
Wallace Nix

Feeding Hundreds One Family at a Time
CCM Feeding Team, List the States

The purpose of the feeding team trip was to
feed the needy families of the Matagalpa
Mountains along with all the barrios in which
CCM regularly ministers.  Although this trip had
to be organized on short notice to meet the
pressing need, God supplied all the food and
other resources needed in just two weeks.
Thank you so much for giving to the feeding
project.   A team of twenty-eight gathered from
eight churches to go and serve bagging
and distributing food to hungry families.

There were 1,400 families who received a 20 lb. bag of food that will last a month.  The local pastors directed the food distributions encouraging families to come be part of the church.   Bibles were also given to the many families who did not have one and the Gospel was presented to those who were not believers.

Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.  For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink..."   ~ Matt.25:34-35

God Provides When Storms Come
CCM Feeding Team - Another Purpose & Mission

A tornado hit Paradise and Marvin barrios on
the second day the feeding team was in
 Nicaragua.   Forty-six homes were destroyed
and many more were damaged.  Three people
lost their lives while others were injured.  A
small group from the feeding team began
reconstructions and a total of twenty homes
were repaired.  Each family was given a bag
 of food.  Mattresses, pillows, toiletries,
school uniforms, shoes, and medicine were
also provided.  But most importantly, the
Gospel of Jesus Christ was shared.

Although originally the feeding team came together to meet the need of the hungry families in the mountains,  God knew we would be needed there in Nicaragua at that specific time to bring healing and hope in the midst of disaster.  Only God knew what was going to happen, and He orchestrated all that was happening with HIs plan in mind.

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways," declares the Lord.  "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts."  ~Isaiah 55:8-9
"I've Heard of Jesus, But Now I See Him."

Many of those helped in Nicaragua said they had heard before of Jesus.  However, after experiencing the provisions, help, and love of God through the CCM team, staff, and pastors, it was said, "Now we have seen Jesus too!"

Thank you for going, giving, and praying!

In Christ,
Wallace Nix
