Equipping Leaders for Christ

People gathering while a CCM mission team distributes food.

Dear CCM Friend and Partner

Kim and I will be on the mission field in Nicaragua with a team from First Baptist Church in Fort Mill, SC.   Part of the team will be constructing a home for the pastor in Marvin barrio and a girl's dorm at the Masaya campus.  A pastor on the team will be teaching pastors at the León Bible Institute while others from the team will be teaching crafts to the pastors' wives.    This team will also be doing evangelism and children's ministry.  It is going to be an exciting week as we see the Lord work through this team for His glory.

Please pray for the feeding team
arriving April 18th.    This team of
 approximately 30 will be coming
 from  ten different churches across
the country to help CCM distribute to
 approximately 2,000 families a
month's worth of groceries and to
share the Gospel with these families.
 What an incredible opportunity this
will be to share Christ's love.  Thank
you for such a  tremendous response
to our request for help in meeting
 this need. A September feeding
Team is also being organized.  If you
would like to be a part of the
                                     September team, please call our
                                     office at 864-599-0067.

It is not too early to be praying about the December 11th -18th Christmas trip.  Let our CCM office know if you are interested.  After this trip, Christmas for you will never be the same!

        God bless,

We have been going to Nicaragua for
nine straight years and every year has
been a blessing.  Every year also brings
new and amazing things for us to be
 involved in.

We were privileged to visit a nursing
home where we had an opportunity to
do a Bible skit and to spend some
quality time with the residents. We
know this is something we would like
to get more involved with in the future.

Working with children was a large part
of our ministry on this trip.  The children liked our Bible skits and really liked the candy, crayons and coloring books we gave to them. It was a real thrill for us to see how much they enjoyed breaking a piñata and scooping up all the candy from it.

While we were there we learned about the famine in north Nicaragua.  We were told CCM was collecting money to buy food for these people and we felt very blessed to contribute about three tons of food for them to distribute in April.

There were other things we were involved in, but the most important was to evangelize while we were there. Fifteen children and sixteen adults gave their hearts to Christ.

It was a privilege to serve alongside of the staff of CCM. They are like a second family to us and we are already starting to plan our next visit to Nicaragua.

God's Mysterious Ways
Auburn College, Auburn, AL

God works in mysterious ways. This statement sums up
our experience with traveling to Nicaragua. Who would
have thought twelve college students, who to be honest
didn't know each other all that well to begin with, would
be able to pull together an overseas missions trip. We
never imagined it would amount to what it did, but God
is so faithful, and it is only through Him that this trip
 was made possible.

When we first arrived we were welcomed with open
arms by Guillermo, Carlos, and the rest of the Chosen
Children Ministries' staff. We had no idea what to
expect, but we knew that we were in good hands. On day one we began working with the people in one of the local communities.  We experienced the love of these people the moment we stepped off the bus.   It was such a blessing to share God's love with these children the instant we arrived.

Our days consisted of working on building a house for a single mother of five children, going door-to-door to different families and having the opportunity to pray with them, sharing God's love with them, and just spending time with them.   Every afternoon we invited the children to come to the church for Bible lessons, songs, and play time.  We began building relationships with these children, and as the week went on we found ourselves becoming more and more attached.

We had come to this place thinking  we would be helping these people and teaching them all about the Lord and His love.  In reality, we learned more from them than we ever expected.  They taught us so much about how to be happy with what we have, and that faith is the most precious thing we have.

As the week progressed, our team of twelve grew closer and closer. God worked in all of us in completely unique ways, and there is no doubt we all grew immensely in our walk with the Lord.  We could not have been more blessed by this experience.  God is so good and His ways are so much higher than ours.

New CCM Youth Education / Vocation Program
CCM Masaya Campus, Nicaragua

CCM is in the beginning stages of another ministry opportunity.  If you have been following the many changes in our orphanage, Casa Mephibosheth, you have read that several of our older girls had to leave because of their age.  After much prayer,  Guillermo and I, along with our Board of Directors, agreed on continuing to offer support for these girls through the new CCM Youth Education/Vocation Program.   Older youth participating in this program will continue their education and assist CCM staff as they transition into adulthood.   Currently, the girls participating in this program are housed at the Masaya campus and are enrolled in school, taking English classes, and assisting with teams.   Several of our faithful partners are helping with their support. If you would like to help and see this program reach others with similar needs, you can send your gift to the CCM Youth Education/Vocation Program. This will be a great blessing to these teenagers at such a critical time in their lives.
