Dear CCM Friend and Partner,
You will find it a blessing to read how God used the last two teams on the mission field. Thank you for being faithful in fulfilling the Great Commission. During the month of June, Kim and I will be joined in Nicaragua by the First North youth, Duncan First Baptist, True Life, Mountain View Baptist, MUD Ministries, Johnson Ferry Baptist youth, Jonesville First Baptist, and a team of young married couples. We are looking forward with great anticipation to all God will be doing in June through these obedient servants. God bless, Wallace Nix

Five Churches Join to Make One Dream Team
Central Baptist Church, Gaffney, SC |
I call us the Dream Team, not because we have a great
skill set or lots of talent, but because the formation of this mission team seemed to only be a dream. In such a tough economy how could we send missionaries to another country? How could we fund mission projects? How could people who had barely met serve seamlessly side-by-side? How can five different churches be represented on one mission team? How could a 50 year participate age range be overcome? How could unskilled men and women aid in building a block room and house repairs? How? Our God is greater! No one could have ever dreamed God would have worked in the great ways that He did.
Our small 15 member team sold hotdogs, donuts, pizza, and fish; we washed tables; hosted yard sales; and many other things to raise funding for the second trip back to Nicaragua. With many new faces on board this year due to partnerships with other churches, the team had diverse background, skill set, and talents. Thankfully, God takes willing hearts and souls and uses them to do great things. As it has often been said, God uses ordinary people who serve an extraordinary God.
Our time in Nicaragua was spent ministering in Paradise, a place we have come to know and love. Our days were filled with several types of ministry. Our team broke down into small groups who completed adding a block room to the pastor's house, repaired 7 houses from tornado damage, spent many hours on door-to-door evangelism, hosted five Bible clubs, and taught church leaders to make disciples.
However, the heart of the mission trip was not in the tasks completed, but in the people of Nicaragua. The trip is for the 24 people who professed Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior for the first time. The trip is for the church leaders who have a heart for those around them. The trip is for the families who will sleep dry this rainy season. The trip is for Gabriella, Manuel, Luis, and every child and their beautiful smile. We praise God for the people of Nicaragua and Chosen Children Ministries and their willingness to be Salt and Light. The Kingdom vision of CCM is filled with love and passion. ~ Duck McAbee, Team Leader |
| Men's Construction Team Builds Church & More
Thompson Station Church, Thompson Station, TN | |
Building a church was everything we thought it would
be plus so much more.
Thompson Station Baptist Church has partnered with
CCM for 11 years. Every year it is so incredible to go
and see the progress that God and this ministry is
making in Nicaragua. This year our main task was to
build the Church at Emmanuel. Through God's
faithfulness and provisions, He did allow this team to
build a church. He also allowed us the pleasure of
building Pastor Mario's house and bathroom,
and build a new roof for one of the church members
who lost his roof in a recent storm. Our construction
started on Monday morning and ended on Thursday
afternoon when the church was dedicated. It was a
powerful and emotional time worshipping and
praising God with the Nicaraguan people in their new
church building.
We were there to build, but God allowed us to do so much more. We had the opportunity to feed meals to around 400 people. We also handed out 100 food bags that would feed a family for about 4 weeks. There were other things that we were involved in during our time there, but the most important was that we handed out over 100 bibles and had 27 people accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. It was such a blessing to this team to be a part of God's divine plan. ~ Brent Jones, Team Leader |

Raising Funds a Success & Blessing Duncan First Baptist Church - Duncan, SC |
We knew when we agreed to take 63 people we were looking at a significant amount of money to go on this trip but our people have WORKED so hard and it has been tremendous. In November we put on a huge yard sale and silent auction in our church gym. The place was full and it was absolutely packed with great stuff. People from the community gathered in and we raised over $10,000 in one day. In April we did our second annual CCM/Duncan First fundraiser at Village Greens Golf Club in Inman, SC. With all of our people working together getting hole sponsorships, teams to play, donations, and great prizes, we raised just over $8,500 from our tournament. We have done lunches after church once a month this entire year, and we have done all sorts of other small fundraisers throughout the course of the 10 months we have been planning this trip. All in all we have been able to raise over $30,000 for our mission trip to Nicaragua. I believe with all my heart we have missed such great opportunities because we are too busy to GO or to busy to WORK. In the past 12 months our church has seen more salvations and growth than anytime we can find in Duncan First Baptist history. The exciting thing to us is we believe this is a direct reflection of our following God's great commission for our church. Our hearts have been here in Duncan all year but have also been pulled to Nicaragua's barrios of Paradise, September 15th, Marvin, and Salinas Grande. We have talked about CCM's Nicaraguan staff and all the barrio church pastors, They are our FAMILY now. I have been so encouraged watching facebook as my students have put on their status 10 more days of school then off to Nicaragua. God used CCM and our mission trip last year to change us and we believe this year is just moving us closer to being the church that GOD changes to be a true mission minded church in the communities of District 5 in Spartanburg, SC. We can't wait to see what HE is going to do next. Thanks so much to all of CCM for letting Duncan First Baptist Church be a part of such a great organization. We love you as our own family! ~ Mark Pangel, Associate Pastor to students
