TACCI President Mr. Celal Secilmis receives an award from "Friends of DeCosta Headley" for his support and his efforts, on August 18th, at a special award ceremony organized to bring together the friends and the supporters of Mr. Headley, who served as District Leader for the 40th Assembly District in the East New York section of Kings County.

TACCI Annual Iftar Dinner was held at TACCI Member Dervish Restaurant
|
On Thursday, 21 July, The Greenwich Village -Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Traditional Chinese Medicine World Foundation and TACCI, Russian & Chinese Chambers of Commerce hosted an international networking event. This event provided attendees a unique and diverse business-to-business networking opportunity. The event was sponsored by TD Bank, and food and beverage provided by Magnolia Bakery, Di Fioren Marquet Cafe, Pop Chips and City Winery. This was free for members of the GVCCC as well as members of TACCI, Russian and Chinese Chambers of Commerce and it gathered more than 100 attendees. Many TACCI members were also among the attendees and they all enjoyed the nice evening.

| TACCI Northwest Established in Seattle, WA | |
Turkish Minister of Economy, Mr. Zafer Caglayan and a Turkish trade delegation visited Seattle for the first time on a three day tour which highlighted discussions with Boeing and Microsoft on August 16th, 2011. The successful visit was made to increase trade and Foreign Direct Investment in Turkey. A reception an honor of Minister Caglayan was hosted by the Turkish American Cultural Association of Washington. In attendance were prominent Washington and Turkish politicians, businesses, and trade groups. TACCI President Mr. Celal Secilmis was also among attendees. Minister Caglayan and the delegation concluded their tour by flying the new Boeing 777-300ER from a ceremony held in his honor from Boeing field.

The historic visit also marked the official opening of the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Northwest (TACCI-NW). TACCI-NW was formed as a chapter of its New York parent, and as such, is committed to the same mission of developing International trade with Turkey and supporting Turkish business owners. With the Pacific Northwest's highly innovative, technology driven business climate, the Northwest Chapter is focused on collaboration efforts with Turkish companies and investors. Deniz Kiral, President
Deniz Kiral founded Turquoise Financial Advisory, a Tax and Investment Advisory firm focused on servicing international clients. Deniz Kiral is a Certified Public Accountant and Registered Investment Advisor with over 15 years of work experience in the financial services industry. He has extensive work experience with the Big 4 public accounting firms including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst and Young and Arthur Andersen, where he specialized in international taxation, consulting economics and valuation. Deniz has a Masters of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois and a Masters in Accounting specializing in taxation from Miami University.
Tolga Ural, Vice President
Tolga Ural is the founder and CEO of Imagine CDs www.imaginecds.com with more than 10,000+ regional and national business clients serviced to date. Tolga has over eleven years of international experience at Microsoft and has held a variety of positions in financial analysis, IT controllership, Business Development, Sales & Marketing, and project management. Tolga has an MBA from Pepperdine University in which he specialized in international business.
Managing Partner Dimensional Investment Group and has been a business owner for fifteen years. Real Estate Broker Dimension Investment Group -Hotel, Residential and Commercial properties. Ersel graduated in Economics from Portland State University.
Koray Ozcubukcu, Director
Koray Ozcubukcu is a Principal Consultant at nxPerion. He was a managing principle at EMC, a Fortune 500 company and global service application firm. He co-founded Equarius, a well-respected technology consulting firm that grew from a start-up in 1996 to one of the West Coast's premier consulting organizations. He co-authored the book "Aligning Internet Strategy with Business Goals", one of the earliest Internet strategy books that was used widely by corporations and the academia around the world. Koray has an MBA from the University of Arkansas and has an electrical engineering degree from Istanbul Teknick University.
Can is currently heading the marketing for an online start-up website Gezlong.com, an exclusive online travel club in Turkey. He has prior interning and consulting experiences at Microsoft HQ and in Microsoft's İstanbul office as well. He has a MS in Business Administration from Boston University with a concentration in İnternational Management. While studying at Boston University, Can served as the President of the İnternational Student Consortium and the Vice-President of the Turkish Student Association.

TOBB President Reelected to Head EUROCHAMBRES

TOBB president M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu was releected to the Eurochambres board of directors during the Joint Members Committee Meeting in Belek, Antalya. Hisarcıklıoğlu has served as Eurochambres deputy president since 2009, and is the first president to hail from a country that is not a member of the European Union.

Turkish Airlines Launches Skylife iPad App
Turkish Airlines recently launched the Skylife iPad application, a digital version of the Airlines' in-flight magazine. The application allows users to download entire issues of the magazine directly to an iPad, free of charge. In addition to providing users with access to all existing content, the iPad application offers expanded and exclusive content, interactive applications, demo tracks of musicians and albums, videos, image galleries and various animations.
