A NEW ERA FOR THE TURKISH - US TRADE RELATIONS?

The New Bill at the House of Representatives Underline the Importance of Türkiye as a Trade Partner

On December 1st, 2010, a new bill was introduced to the House of Representatives, expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the United States should initiate negotiations to enter into a bilateral free trade agreement with Türkiye. TACCI President Mr. Celal Secilmis reported that for the first time in the history, a bill like this has been submitted to the House, by the personal attempts of Representative James Sensenbrenner, William Delahunt and James Moran; even though in the past, previous Turkish government officials had suggested similar bills with no success. Secilmis also added that it is not very easy for the bill to make it to the final step (the House vote), however, it is the sign of the new era that the Turkish - US trade relations are headed to. TACCI President urged that it is very important to show the support from the public by voting online, so please vote by using the link below and share the link with your colleagues and friends.
