STRONG KIDS RUN 

This is our 3rd annual Strong Kids Run. First 200 to register before November 5th will receive a t-shirt on race morning. Packet pick-up will be from 6:30-7:30am.

Biddy Basketball
Biddy Basketball is for children 3 thru 5.  MUST BE IN PRE-SCHOOL AND NOT ENTERED KINDERGARDEN YET. All games played on Tuesday nights at the Ozark Mtn Family YMCA

Youth sportsYouth Basketball
YMCA youth basketball is a six to eight week session. 
Youth basketball is for children grades k thru 4th. All games played on Saturday. All games played at the Ozark Mtn Family YMCA in Hollister. Each participant will receive an award and jersey with registration.

NEW!!!!!Bully Proofing Class
It's a series of 10 "Gracie Games" in which we secretly teach the children essential self-defense techniques. By playing the fun and challenging "Gracie Games," children develop strong reflexes in the execution of the basic techniques as they unconsciously learn the foundational principles of leverage and control. 
Cost-$26 for members, $41 for non-members for a 4 week session

Recreational and Competitive Team Gymnastics:
CHECK OUT THE NEW TUMBING AND HIP HOP CLASS!!!!!!!
The YMCA provides a state-of-art facility and hosts the only USAG competitive gymnastics team in the area.  The Ozark Mountain YMCA provides basic to advanced gymnastics classes.  From Mom and Me Classes, Beginner and Advanced Classes, and Boys Gymnastics to fall classes are fast approaching and filling up! Enroll today!
Cost:  Priced according to program level.

Bring your kids to the Y when school is not in session for open gymnastics, inflatable fun, crafts, games, and more.  Please bring a sack lunch.  Two snacks will be provided.  Financial assistance is available.

If school is cancelled due to weather, and staff can arrive safely at the YMCA, we will have a day of fun.  Please call 337-9622 before heading to the YMCA to ensure we will have Snow Day Out.

Want to learn how to run faster and farther?  Join our early Monday morning class that offers instruction and practice in using power with quickness and ease of movement. Benefits:
Learn proper race pacing.
Enhance fast-twitch muscle fibers, improving your speed.

Silver Sneakers Wellness Program:
Silver Sneakers group exercise classes offer the best opportunity for you to stay on track toward your health and fitness goals. You'll find the classes beneficial regardless of your fitness level or health condition, and you're sure to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow members. Certified Instructors or trained to be sensitive to your needs and fitness level. We offer Muscular Strength & Range of Movement and Yoga Stretch.
We also celebrate birthdays quarterly with a pot-luck lunch!!!!

Zumba:
If you like moving and shaking your hips to a Latin beat, you'll LOVE this workout! We now have classes for morning hip-shakers as well as evening hip-shakers. All levels of fitness welcomed!!

500 Club Fall/Winter Session:
Making positive changes by tracking steps will help motivate you. You can join at anytime within the 6 month period if you think you can finish on time. Your goal is to run or walk 500 miles within a 6 month period. We work the honor system. You will track your days and mileage each time you come in. Please register at the front desk. After you complete your 500 miles, you can pick your shirt up at the front desk.
Cost: $5 member/$10 Non-Member
Start date: September 7, 2010 (or anytime)
End date: March 7, 2011

One-on-One Personal Training:
Certified Personal Trainers are available to help those members interested in having a specific program designed to meet their needs. If you are the type of person that has a goal in mind but are not sure how to reach that goal, a personal trainer can help to lead you in the right direction.
Cost: $18 per ½ hour or $35 per hour or 10 sessions for $300
The Ozark Mountain Family YMCA now offers group personal training!!
If you want the same fitness benefits of a personal trainer but want to have fun with your friends and split the cost, this is for you!!
2 people can get 10, 1 hour sessions for $150 per person
3 people can get 10, 1 hour sessions for $100 per person
Fitness4 people can get 10, 1 hour sessions for $75 per person

Whether you'd like a personal introduction to our facility, a Wellness program designed to best meet your needs or you'd simply like someone to chat with you about your health goals, our Healthy Lifestyles visit is for you. Facility & Party Rentals at the YMCA!
Looking for fun and exciting place to hold an activity?  Consider the YMCA!  Facility rentals are available at the Ozark Mountain YMCA for birthday parties, corporate meetings/parties, lock-ins, banquets, holiday celebrations, and much more.  You can rent the entire facility or just the rooms you need.  The Inflatable Bounce House, gymnastics area, and rock wall are available for birthday parties.  Contact the Y today to rent the facility for your next business party or family special occasion!

Community Garden:
Come by to see our garden located behind the Y now producing fruits and vegetables. Own your "box" of land and grow healthy foods, receive advice from master gardeners, learn the benefits of eating natural foods and participate in classes about canning and cooking.
Cost per box is $25 for Y members or $50 for prospective members. Box includes rock, compost, soil and some seed.
Cost per tire is $10 for Y members and $25 for prospective members. Tire includes rock, compost, soil and some seed.
COMMUNITY EVENTS

 Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run

Fall program graduation & after-race celebration:
Date: November 7, 2010
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Location: Ward branch
Girls and their families will come together to celebrate the culmination of this 10-week interactive program that uses exercise to encourage self-respect and healthy life-style choices.  The fall session concludes with the girls participating in a local 5K run, followed by a celebration of accomplishments.  Goal setting, team building, and community awareness are all part of the curriculum.  Girls meet twice a week after school for an hour at the following locations: Bowerman, Campbell, Field, Greenwood, Jeffries, Rountree, Wilder and Republic.  The groups are led by adult women volunteer coaches. 
Enrollment for the spring session will begin January 10, 2011.  Program fee is $130 ($100 YMCA Family members). Program times vary depending on school dismissal times.  For more information or interest in volunteering, contact Trish Hopkins at 417-860-2727 or email at trishhop@aol.com.
