We D.I.D. It!!
Congratulations on the 1 YEAR
ANNIVERSARY of the Downtown Improvement District (KCKDID).
What a
difference we have made in our Downtown this past year! With full-time
crews focusing on security and cleanliness, our Downtown has a new look
and feel. Still lots to be done - but we're on our way!
By
responding to over 18,100 calls, our Security Ambassadors, in
partnership with the local police department, helped reduce overall
crime in Downtown by 30% this
year!
Over 146 TONS of trash have been
picked up by our Cleaning Ambassadors this year...
That's equivalent to 19 ELEPHANTS!!!

In addition, Farmers Insurance and the Latino Peace
Officers are partnering to bring FREE M.I.L.K. (Managing Information on Lost Kids) digital ID kits. This kit offers
parents a free, standardized, digital image of their child to store for
personal
safety records as well as provide an opportunity to fingerprint their
child
using a Farmers Child Identification Kit. The Home
Organizer® helps parents rapidly distribute their child's digital ID to
local
authorities and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
(NCMEC).
If declared a national search, NCMEC can forward the information to
nearly
18,000 police departments across the nation. This could be the
difference
between a fast recovery and a prolonged search. The m.i.l.k.
digital ID has been called
"the first step in the Amber Alert.®" Stop by and see them between 12 - 3 pm.
 Join us at this year's
festival! You will find there is no other area in the city that blends such a unique and eclectic mix of
music and food in a celebration of people, culture and family. Please call Lupita Sanchez at 816-716-1376 to get involved and visit Bonitomichoacankck.com for previous events done the
last three years.
