We D.I.D. It!!

Congratulations on the
1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
of the
Downtown Improvement District (KCKDID).

What a difference we have made in our Downtown this past year!  With full-time crews focusing on security and cleanliness, our Downtown has a new look and feel.  Still lots to be done - but we're on our way!
DID
By responding to over 18,100 calls,
our Security Ambassadors,
in partnership with the local police department, helped reduce
overall crime in Downtown by 30% this year!

Trash
Over 146 TONS of trash have been picked up
by our Cleaning Ambassadors this year...
That's equivalent to 19 ELEPHANTS!!!

In addition, Farmers Insurance and the Latino Peace Officers are partnering to bring FREE M.I.L.K. (Managing Information on Lost Kids) digital ID kits.  This kit offers parents a free, standardized, digital image of their child to store for personal safety records as well as provide an opportunity to fingerprint their child using a Farmers Child Identification Kit. The Home Organizer® helps parents rapidly distribute their child's digital ID to local authorities and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). If declared a national search, NCMEC can forward the information to nearly 18,000 police departments across the nation. This could be the difference between a fast recovery and a prolonged search. The m.i.l.k. digital ID has been called "the first step in the Amber Alert.®"   Stop by and see them between 12 - 3 pm.

Spanish DancersJoin us at this year's festival!  You will find there is no other area in the city that blends such a unique and eclectic mix of music and food in a celebration of people, culture and family. Wheat State Pizza
Pizza on the Move...

On Thursday, July 15th, at 2 p.m., Wheat State Pizza on Strawberry Hill will be moving to their new location in Rosedale.  They will be located in the Fairway North Shopping Center on West 47th Ave (County Line Rd) just EAST of Mission Road - 2820 W. 47th.  Their opening date is August 1st.  Their phone number will stay the same however their new email address is wheatstatekck@yahoo.com.

Wheat State will continue delivering to their current core area including Downtown KCK.  They are deeply committed to maintaining service to this market and purposely stayed in Eastern Wyandotte County, 10 minutes from their current store, for just that reason.

"Words do not express how grateful I am for the opportunity to own a small business in the historic neighborhood of Strawberry Hill for the last two years.  The customers who live and work in Strawberry Hill, Downtown KCK, and the surrounding community are the ones I have enjoyed the most anywhere" says Paul Davis, owner of Wheat State Pizza.  "I will continue serving on the Downtown Shareholders Board of Directors, performing music at the Granada, Holy Family, St. Johns and other venues, and volunteering in our area.  I look forward to seeing many of you out in the community as well as at our new location."

As a thank you to their customers, they are offering three of their most popular deals of the last two years.  Make sure you stop by one more time!
