Alcott Arts Center Season Opening Alcott Arts Center is celebrating their season opening with an art exhibit of the Wyandot Art Association's members in April, with a reception on April 10, at 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm. Members participating are: Diane DeMint with 3D abstracts, Donna Suther with decorative paintings, Zada
Vogel with pencil drawings, Vice President Jan Kobe with children's
books-type paintings, realistist Marie Bohndorf with her award-winning
photographs, and Betty Selbe with realistic paintings. Most works of art will be for sale.
The Wyandot Art Association is a non-profit organization
founded in 1965 by a small group of local artists who share common
interests and goals in the Kansas City
area. Today, the Association operates on
the same premise with emphasis on promoting fine art and to encourage the
individual artist, while advancing visual arts in general.

Art Expo - Call for Artists!
The Alcott
Arts Center and KCK Arts Network Group are seeking multi-media artists from
Kansas City, Kansas to exhibit at an Art Expo on June 12, 2010 with some work
staying on for a month long exhibit. All Artists must be present during the Art
Fair. Booth space 8x10 is $25 both inside and outside the building.
The Alcott Arts Center
is proud to be hosting this Art Expo for Local Kansas City, Kansas Artists. The
Alcott's goal is to create an environment where interacting with others opens
new doors.

Paranormal Investigation of Memorial Hall

Free Health Screenings Open to the public, KCKCC's Health Fair on Thursday, April 15, will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 am in the upper level of Jewell Building, KCKCC campus, at 7250 State Avenue.
Free screenings include blood pressure, height & weight. HIB/STD testing, blood sugar level, vision, % of body fat, hearing, grip strength, spinal flexibility, oral hygiene/cancer, and chiropractic analysis. A cholesterol blood chemistry will be available for $28 and a 20 chemistry test with lipid profile and complete blood count for $35. Both tests require a 12-hour fast from food and drink with the exception of water, although persons with diabetes should not fast and prescription medicine should not be interrupted. A PSA blood test for men will be offered for $25 and a TSH test for thyroid will be available for $27. Physicians, registered nurses, and dietitians will be on hand to answer any health questions.
