From the President
It's time to step back, rest, be renewed, and feel a change of pace. What better place to do that than our Seattle conference! I look forward to the renewal of joining with colleagues in worship and song, enjoying lively discussions, and learning new ideas. Jesus reminds us in the gospel for this Sunday the real source for our rest and renewal."Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." (Matt. 11:28) Whether you find that rest at home or by a lake, with family or friends, our rest finally comes from God. I hope to see you in Seattle.

Through the Church the Song Goes On
A Hymn Festival in Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Association of Church Musicians
For 25 years ALCM has engaged in the work of empowering people to join the song of the Church. It is appropriate that at this moment in our history, we sing about it and give thanks. To honor ALCM's 25 years of growth and influence within the Lutheran community, you are invited to host "Through the Church the Song Goes On" in your location.
Our goal is to ignite the Church with 25 experiences of the same Hymn Festival, to provide opportunity to share stories of ALCM's accomplishments and to encourage financial support and partnership to expand scholarship and mentoring programs for our youngest musicians.
Daniel Schwandt has graciously assembled the format, hymns, and reflections - we just need YOU to schedule the event! Watch the ALCM web site for details about signing up or come to the ALCM table at the Seattle conference and sign up there. |
