2012/2013 general slide
Greetings!

It has been an exciting and crazy two weeks at Hart House Theatre. This past Friday we opened the first show in our 2012/2013 season, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Opening weekend was a smashing success with both shows almost selling out. The reviews for the production are just starting to come out and they confirm what we knew all along, this play is not to be missed!

Rehearsals are underway for the next show in our season line-up, My Name is Rachel Corrie and we had the first read through of Romeo and Juliet this past Sunday. We are really pleased with the way both shows are coming together.

We are also pleased to announce that we are now taking submissions for Robin Hood: The Legendary Musical Comedy, the fourth show in our 2012/2013 season. We've included all the details in this month's newsletter.
ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD Receives Rave Reviews!

"Above all else, he's started with a shopworn, overdone play, and without breaking the script or butchering Stoppard's words - produced something watchable, enjoyable, insightful and hilarious...a tremendous achievement for Matthew Gorman and Hart House, and a strong opening to the 2012/2013 season." - Mooney on Theatre

"The fabulous performances were supported by a simple but beautiful and effective set and was matched by Mattew Gorman's tight direction"

- Theatre Isn't Dead

"Jim Armstrong and Andrew Knowlton deftly take on the play's title roles... (they) dance through their lines, not letting the audience miss a laugh. Their chemistry is enchanting... The rest of the cast also shines." - The Varsity

"The set and lighting by Stephan Droege... are wonderful: a jagged bit of terrain illuminated by a sun (or moon) that changes constantly into semi-recognizable images."
- Toronto Theatre Calendar
