Massage Therapy as a part of your health-care regime...
Wondering why say "yes" to a massage?
The pros far out-weigh the cons when it concerns your everyday health and well-being.
Here are just a few good reasons to make massage therapy a part of your regular routine to take care of yourself...
*Reduce Pain *Reduce Stress *Increase Relaxation *Reduce Fatigue *Lower Heart Rate *Stimulate Lymph System *Reduce Muscle Tension *Lower Blood Pressure *Increase Blood Circulation *Reduce Anxiety *Increase Endorphin Levels *Reduce Numbness/Tingling *Reduce Muscle Adhesions *Promote Toxin Elimination *Reduce Muscle Scar Tissue *Reduce Muscle Spams *Improve Muscle Tone *Reduce Tender Points *Reduce Trigger Points *Improve Joint Function & *Increase Joint Range of Motion

quickly as they were before. At least that's what public officials keep
telling us. Most people seem to know what's going on and in the real
world people are still losing their jobs. But it appears we are getting a
little "break" from the deflationary depression we are in. The
bad news is that we aren't even close to the final bottom. Perhaps by the
end of the summer the mainstream news will say that the recession is
ending. That will be wrong. Be prepared to think differently than what
the mainstream news tells you to think - i.e. don't get back into the
stock market right before the next 50 to 80% decline. Don't follow the
herd of "sheeple". I'm trying to prepare you to expect this to happen so that when
(if) it does you won't fall for it.
And of course I very much believe that no matter what silver does during
this next phase of the deflation, over the long term, because it is
incredibly undervalued compared to gold, and because history shows that
every form of unbacked paper money has become worthless, it seems prudent
to continue to accumulate silver on a regular basis. I thought I would share with you some ways that silver dollars have traditionally been used (besides for every day currency before the days of fiat paper money). *Tooth Fairy money *Christmas Stocking Stuffer *The Bride keeps one in her shoe on her wedding day *Drop one in the Bride's money bag while the couple have the first dance *New Born Baby (for baby or Mom) *Birthdays *Any time a "piggy bank" is given as a gift, the pig is passed around to the party guests to be filled with silver *Graduations *Hide one in a plastic colored egg for Easter *Rewards for a good report card from school *Just to collect! I really do like being able to share this with you... Silver Eagle Dollars are
REAL money unlike Federal Reserve Notes (paper currency) and are a store
of value that is not subject to inflation.
In fact, with the ever-increasing inflation and debasement of the paper
currency, precious metals such as gold and silver (real money) are the best way
to accumulate and protect your wealth.
Plus, getting these beautiful silver coins in the mail is just plain
fun! I will continue to send out this monthly promotional featuring the current special I might be offering, letting you know about any new services or products being offered, and making announcements of anything new at White Dragon Therapies. I normally send out only ONE email (usually on the first of each month) every month. Although, there has been rare occasions where I send out a special second email during the month. If you do not wish to receive these newsletters, please use the "safe unsubscribe" feature at the bottom of this page. I am paying to use Constant Contact to help me provide and deliver this newsletter to you. Constant Contact is permission only based email. I ask that you please do not click the spam button on your computer to discontinue receiving these newsletters. If I get too many spam notices on my account, Constant Contact will discontinue my membership. I thank you for your co-operation in this matter. |
(keep in mind that a massage therapist
is NOT a physician. I am not qualified to diagnose or prescribe. I am
however able to asses and provide self care suggestions and refer clients to specialists. So, with this
in mind here we go...)
Pathology Insight: Why is it that when our feet hurt our whole body hurts?
Lets think about it. The
foot is our body's main source of support. The feet connect us to the earth. Feet work harder for you than almost any other part of your body. In addition,
feet are furthest from the heart where circulation tends to stagnate and
gravity tends to pull toxins. Feet are of
high importance because each foot is
home to 7000 superficial nerve endings. They support us with an intricate structure that consists of 26 bones, 33 joints, 19 muscles and 107 ligaments. Our feet deserve the same wellness considerations as the rest of our
body, and yet it is an area that is often neglected until we start to
experience problems. (nearly half of the U.S. population will at some point
in their lives experience problems with their feet.) To improve health
and well being, it is the feet that need to receive the most attention. The following are some things you can do that can make a difference between
tired, aching feet and happy, feel-good feet.
Wear the Correct Shoes and Check the Size Regularly. Despite their
popularity, flip-flops were never designed to be worn as an all-day work shoe.
Even as part of the latest trend, people should use caution about wearing them
for hours at a time on cement and hard surfaces. Flip-flops are beach shoes,
meant to be worn to protect the soles of our feet while walking on a surface
like sand. They offer no arch support and no protection for your feet. If you
want to wear a sandal to work, experts say something like a Birkenstock or Chaco (that offers some support) is a much better
choice.
Pamper Your Feet. Get a pedicure from a professional at least once a month.
Good nail care can help present future foot problems. A good nail technition will help you keep
an eye out for issues, like the start of a nail fungus, a callus, or a blister. Lynn Lemke (see my website under "Beau's Favorite Providers of Other Services") is offering a special on pedicures this month for my massage clients. Clip the coupon at the bottom of this newsletter, give her a call and be sure to mention my newsletter to get your discount. She's excellent! Treat your Feet! Ask your Massage Therapist for Help. Of course, one of the best resources for you
and your feet is your massage therapist! Next time you're scheduled for a
massage, be sure to ask your practitioner for a little extra attention to your
feet. A professional's trained touch can do wonders for aching feet. A leg and foot massage feels great and will relax not
just your feet, but your whole body. (I also provide foot reflexology using body rocks as an add-on to any massage.) Foot reflexology is an excellent help to prevent plantar
fasciitis and relieve general foot pain. Most of us will log about 1,000 miles each year on
our feet. Because of this, it is important to stretch the muscles in the foot,
ankle, and arch. An effective way to stretch the bottom of the foot is with a
tennis ball. While sitting watching TV or even while working on the computer,
roll a tennis ball along the bottom of your foot from heel to toes, applying
medium to deep pressure as you go. Another good stretch is to grab all of the
toes on one foot with your thumb on the bottom, and the rest of your fingers on
the top and stretch by pulling toes up toward your knee and then curling them
down toward the floor. I personally like to do foot stretches while soaking in a hot bath with epsom salts and essential oils. It helps to warm up the feet and leg muscles for about 10 minutes in the water then start the gentle stretches. You will be amazed at how great your feet will feel afterwards. (as well as your legs and the rest of your body!) Be kind to your feet. Give them the pampering they deserve so they will be happy and healthy. The
rest of your body will appreciate the feet being happy too! ~F.Y.I.~ Have you been in a vehicular collision? (the DMV does not all them "accidents" anymore!)Are you experiencing headaches, neck pain, back pain, arm or leg pain? Did you know that in most cases your auto insurance will cover 100% of your chiropractic care without a referral from a medical doctor? Your chiropractic provider can refer you for massage therapy which may also be 100% covered by your auto insurance.
If you have a pathology topic that you would like me
to comment on, please email me. I would be most happy to write about
what any of you want to know about and how massage therapy may help you. |
