Upcoming Schedule of Youth Events
The Lone Star Bowhunters Association has several upcoming youth events in which we hope you will participate.  Some of the deadlines are fast approaching, so please send in your entries!  There are two upcoming Youth Hunts, 3-D Shoots and several other youth events, which will take place at our Banquet and Expo.  For some of the events, membership is required, but there are also opportunities for non-members to participate and learn more about the LSBA.  We now offer Youth Memberships (16 and under) for $15.00.  We hope to see you out at some of the events!

Free Youth Hunts
October 7-10, 2011


DEADLINE for entry~05/21/11

This is a great opportunity for kids 16 and younger to have a wonderful experience bowhunting for Texas' most coveted trophies. The bag limit for each hunter is an 8 point buck, a bearded turkey, one javelina, unlimited hogs and other varmints. All Texas Parks & Wildlife Rules and Regulations apply.

There are 9 spots available for this hunt. The hunt is FREE of charge and includes lodging. Child and parent must be a current member of the LSBA throughout the entire entry process and at the time of the hunt. Hunters for the 9 spots will be selected through a drawing. There are five (5) different ways that a child can earn a ticket for the drawing. There can be up to five (5) tickets per person. 

Tickets can be earned by the following:

1. Complete the Hunters Education Course 

2. Complete the International Bowhunter Education Program Course
(A child must be 9 to be certified by the Hunters Ed and 12 through the IBEP course, however, the requirement for the hunt is that the course be completed.)

3. Write a 500 word essay on the topic "How I can preserve and promote bowhunting"

4. Video Essay (Shooting Proficiency, etc.)

5. Win any 3-D Tournament

Deadline: All entries including hunter's name, parents' name, address, phone number and email address, along with supporting documentation must be RECEIVED at the following address by May 21, 2011. Winners will be announced at the LSBA's 2011 Outdoor Expo and Banquet at Pedrotti's Ranch, Helotes, Texas, on June 11, 2011. It would be appreciated if entrants be in attendance at the Banquet, but is not a requirement.

Bugscuffle Ranch and Brian and Debbie Keeling have once again generously donated an Youth Exotic Hunt to the LSBA. It includes one exotic and lodging. It is open to five (5) hunters. The LSBA will be drawing for four (4) hunters and the final hunter will be drawn from all of the 1st place winners at the LSBA's Soldiers' Angels Youth Archery Challenge , which will take place at the LSBA Banquet. The deadline is September 1, 2011 and is open to youth 16 and under. You must be a member of or sponsored by a LSBA member. We have youth memberships for 16 and under available for $15.00.

3-D Regional Shoots & State Shoot
Remaining 2011 3-D Shoots

There are five (5) youth categories at our 3-D shoots and we would like you to come out and shoot with us.  You do not have to be a member to shoot and place at the Regional Shoots.  However, to place at the State Shoot a LSBA membership is required. Youth memberships are available for $15.00.
