Dear partners and friends,

The Bible tells us to "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. And all these things shall be added unto you".  This scripture is telling us to seek God's way of doing things, God's way of being right, and then everything else that we need in this world to function on a daily basis will be given to us. Therefore, seeking God's will and purposes for your life should be your number one priority.

As you begin to seek God's way of doing things and His way of being right, you may encounter certain situations or circumstances that you do not understand. But hold on, God allows us to go through certain things to prune us, to prepare us for the work that He is calling us to do. What is most important is for you to understand the different stages of your situation and know that you will come out victorious. Amen!

This month, we are blessed to have an excerpt taken from an article in the current issue of "Harvest News" on "God's Will and Purpose in your situation" written by Pastor Lemmy Sikena, from Christian Harvest Center, in Mongu, Zambia.

I know you will be blessed!

In His Name

Debbie

GOD'S WILL AND PURPOSE IN YOUR SITUATION

Deuteronomy 8:1-18

PART 1

WILDERNESS - Deuteronomy 8:1-6

God's purposes and will for our lives include a wilderness experience. It is a place of hardship where without revelation, you feel forsaken yet you are not alone, God is with you. In John 14:18 Jesus told his disciples "I will not leave you as orphans".

The Lord your God leads you into the wilderness to humble you and to test you. To know what is in your heart whether you will obey God or not. It is a place of being humbled where God allows you to hunger and thirst. Your survival is miraculous. The children of Israel were fed with manna and their garments did not wear for forty years. It is appointed for all of us as God's children to go through the wilderness.

John the Baptist had a wilderness experience in Matthew 3:1-4. He came preaching in the wilderness of Judea. His message was "repent for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand". He was the voice of one crying in the wilderness. His food was locusts and wild honey. Halleluiah! Amen!

Jesus Christ also had a wilderness experience in Matthew 4:1-11. The bible says; Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness, Jesus humbled himself and passed the test. He walked by faith and responded by and according to the Word of God saying "It is written".  Job's wilderness was marked by loss of lives, property, sickness, and disease, but he passed the test (Job 42:12 "Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning")

You too are called to pass the test. You don't pass by murmuring and complaining, but through humility and obedience. In the wilderness, there is an assessment of the genuiness of your faith being much more precious than gold that it may be found to praise, honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Whatever you are going through, keep your focus on Jesus. John 3:14-16 says "and Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must be the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life".

Instead of murmuring and complaining, repent for accusing God. Give a sacrifice of praise, fixing your eyes on Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith (Isaiah 1:19 "If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land")
