Monthly Message from Mayor Lockwood

Mayor LockwoodI really love this time of year. The leaves are changing, the weather is cooling and with each passing day the holidays get nearer and nearer. I look forward to fall more than any other season because of all it entails. I know I will soon see family and friends from near and far, enjoy the all great college and professional football, and have time to just be at home with my family. I'm grateful for these things to come, as I'm sure you are, and for so much more.

Marie Latta BetterIn an attempt to create a culture of universal accessibility for all residents, the City of Milton has partnered with American with Disabilities expert Maria Latta.

                    Veterans Day
                              Nov. 11th
Veterans Marker
The City of Milton unveiled its roadside marker tribute to veterans this past Memorial Day. Now with Veterans Day approaching Nov. 11, the City is again asking for help in identifying area residents both living and fallen who served in the military. An information submission form is available online and at City Hall. The information provided is used to create the markers, which include the veteran's name, rank and any conflict in which he or she served.

You may also fax a form to Linda Blow at 678.242.2499 or mail to 13000 Deerfield Parkway, Suite 107-A/B, Milton, GA 30004.

Please note: If you already submitted information earlier this year for Memorial Day, you do not need to send your information again.

 Day With The Mayor
A Visit at City Hall
Mayor Lockwood

Brad Folley, a  14-year-old student and Milton resident, won a "Mayor of the Day," item at the Milton High School Gala silent auction. As a result, Brad and his father Chris, spent a day at City Hall with Mayor Joe Lockwood.

Brad got to visit with all of the departments including Community Development, Public Works, Court, Finance and more to learn what each person does to help run the City.

Brad and his dad ended their day with a trip to a Milton fire station and to the new Alpharetta 911 Center.
