10th Annual Christmas DinnerChristmas for the elderly from VOP at BBL for elderly
Banana Bank
over the years has created a much awaited event for the elderly from the nearby village of Valley of Peace. They come and enjoy a turkey dinner prepared by our kitchen staff and they play yard games. It is for anyone 60 or older and this year we had about 40 elderly attend. Valley of Peace is about 7 miles from Banana Bank and is primarily populated by refugees from El Salvador and Guatemala who came to Belize in the 1980's. I am not sure who has more fun - them or us - but it is a great treat for both.
