Dear Friends, Family and Prayer Partners,
Please pray for Ted & Lisa Hojara and their children Charmaine and Caleb. The Hojaras are the missionary family sitting in for us in Haiti while Susette is being treated for cancer.
At 8:30 pm, the Hojaras were driving to our house from the orphanage, after giving medication to some of the sick children, when a truck filled with armed men rammed their truck only a few houses away from our home. It appeared that the men were attempting to kidnap Ted & Lisa. Although the truck was badly damaged, Ted managed to gun the truck and drive away from the men. Circling around to the boys home, Ted and Lisa contacted our security company and the police who met them at the scene of the crime. Apparently, some of the men were still waiting for their return. The police chased the suspects but were unsuccessful at capturing any of the men.
The Hojaras took their children and are spending the night with another missionary family in another part of Port Au Prince, near the McHoul family (our pastor in Haiti).
By the grace of God they are all alright and no injuries incurred, even though the men were armed. The guard at our house overheard one of the kidnappers tell another not to shoot.
We know it is because of our faithful God that the Hojaras are unharmed and we give Him all the praise and glory for His protection. Please join us is thanking the Lord and in praying for the Hojaras who are pretty shaken up by the experience. Please pray against the spirit of fear and that the peace of Christ fill them all.
Thank you Jesus and thank you friends for your prayers.
God bless you.
