I always love May, but the damp cold is definitely making the pain a little more acute. This month is all about rehab. I still cannot kneel or take a flight of stairs, but every day gets better.
After all, it is a month of special magic, fertility, new life, getting rid of the old. It was on the eve of May that the Tuatha de Danann (tribe of the Goddess Danu) arrived in Ireland. They are the faeries & their magic is strong in May. For me, recovery is directly connected to blending. I love listening to music while creating. In the past I would sing along & dance in my cottage. Can't dance quite yet, but the music is still there. And music allows me to express the beauty & fullness of these precious oils. It's gift is the wondrous feeling of being totally alive in everything that I do & I am so relieved to feel well enough to craft again.
On a side note, I was gifted with a gorgeous soul-mate crystal (twin crystals formed while fused together) on Beltaine. Some say a soul mate is 1/2 of the spirit consciousness, others believe we have literally hundreds of soulmates. Whatever the belief, on my altar it is going along with some red silk, pink & red candles, chocolate(occasionally, nothing but a full-on chocolate hit will do) & bundles of sage.Time will tell, & but maybe a self love bath is in order!
(Next week is Mothers Day & YES, I will once again re-print the poem in this years holiday note)

Full Moon May 2012
Tonight (May 5th at 11:35 EST to be exact) we bask in the glow of the Full Flower Moon, celebrating spring with its flush of fertility, flowers, sensuality, light & love. But thats not all sweeties-this is also a super-moon & the biggest Full Moon of the year. There will be no way to avoid this Scorpio moon, whether physically or emotionally. The moon's energy should literally fill up the week!
My muse has always been Mother Moon & this particular one occurs not only during the Celtic fest of Beltaine, but also on the day that celebrates the birth, life & death of Buddha (Wesak, the most holy time in the Buddhist calendar).
In my opinion, this might be one of the most magical & powerful moons of the year. A Scorpio moon is passionate & real, forcing you to expose yourself, reveal who you are & face your fears. The Scorpio moon brings about change; it's a time to let go of everything we have been holding on to for too long & cleanse. One way or another, we'll be swimming with Scorpion energy all week.

Jyoti...a new potion for May....
When I retired Maias Moon, it was with the intention to replace it. Well that time has come. And in homage to all the wondrous Indian oils out there, Jyoti is my tribute to all the amazing Indian Temple scents, with a super feminine floral middle. It's spicy and has a warmth and sweetness guaranteed to draw people closer. Jyoti translates as "Light or Light of the Sun". Spreading happiness, love. My inspiration? Kama, the ancient love god of India. He is pictured as an archer with a quiver of flower tipped arrows with which he pierces the heart through the senses, symbolic of the powerful connection between fragrance & romance. This is a blend that will pierce your heart and open you to the newness of the season.
