So happy to be back! 

There's something about India that gets under your skin.  It's not because it's all lovely (because there's plenty of gritty, too).  But it has a certain quality that's, well, unforgettable. It's in your face & there is nothing subtle about the country or its people. India stays with you like that song you can't get out of your head or that perfume that still lingers in the air.

To experience India is to immerse oneself in spirituality & ritual. Someone once told me "Change your environment to change yourself". I challenge anyone to visit & leave feeling the same. It is a country for transformation. It changed me.

The heart of Mumbai lies in it's bazaars. Unfortunately due to my leg, I only got to one (see below)...but there's always next time.

From India With Love

 Anyone who has traveled to India will tell you that the scent of incense & flowers is everywhere. I visited a small attar shop on Mohammed Ali Rd in Mumbai, specifically for his sandal extract. I found  to my delight some of the most beautiful attars I have had the pleasure to indulge in.

True natural Indian Attars & ruhs have long been applied daily to pulse points or specific marma points by the Vedic healers of India to "quiet the

mind & calm the spirit...soothing & calming the nervous system & heart while producing a mild euphoria".  

Attars can be applied more than once throughout the day creating a mild & beautiful aromatic vapor around one's body bringing the healing effects of the oils to those near as well as to oneself.

 

First thing that caught my eye was a dark colored essence set away from the other bottles- Ruh Khus, the soul of Vetiver. Other Offerings...Mitti(baked earth), Gulab (rose), Motia (jasmine) & Gul Hina. Not listed on the site...Sandal Extract ($65) & a gorgeous Oud ($78-Oud/Agarwood is the most costly, most sought after oil in the world...with a woodsy, powerful scent, it is renowned for spiritual enlightenment, protection & deep meditations.
