"On a chilly night when the moon is round and the Autumn leaves rustle upon the ground, the cauldron fire she begins to light making magic in the October Night "

October... no other month is as magical, marvelous or as mischievous. Halloween/Samhain is here, my lovelies!! Time to get out those brooms & let the Witching Hour begin...

(and the queen of pumpkins suggests rubbing the inside of your carved pumpkin with cinnamon before lighting for a lusciously warm aroma)

Samhain is the greatest of the 4 Pagan Sabbats. It's the Celtic New Year- time for soul searching & new beginnings. On this night, the old year turns to the new, & the veil between this world & the spiritual is thinnest. This is the time of the  crone; the season She rules.  And our goddess of the month & potion?  Cerridwen, the wise Triple Goddess (Maiden, Mother, Wise Woman).

Besides Samhain, the holiday of Diwali, the Hindu New Year, was also celebrated this past week.  Diwali is a 5 day festival of lights that began this year on October 24th. Though prayers at this time are traditionally offered to Lakshmi, goddess of fortune, She is but one aspect of the divine feminine- Kali & Saraswati together with Lakshmi represent all  3 aspects of the triple goddess.

Happy Diwali, Blessed Samahin, Happy Halloween...may your blessings be many this coming year & may the Goddess in Her wisdom help each of you look deep within the darkness for the light.
