February 1st & 2nd
Imbolc was regarded as the first day of spring, the beginning of new life in the belly of the earth. This Celtic festival celebrates the rebirth of nature & fertility. It is a time of purification, a farewell to winter and a welcome to the warmth & light filled days of spring. Christians celebrate this festival as Candlemas, which is also the last official day of the Christmas season.
February 2nd-On this day we celebrate Brigid, Triple Goddess symbolized as maiden. Goddess of healing, She represents the fire that burns within each of us. She lets us know that by our actions, by caring for ourselves we keep the flame eternal & create inner healing. Brigid symbolizes the seeds of life & creation; the cauldron, Her womb, stirring the new life within ~And so the Wheel turns |
