Tonight you can hear the whispers in the wind swirling through the trees out here in Long Island. The cold brisk air is filled with the aroma of fallen leaves & lit fires. On this chilly night with its' quarter moon all a-glow, you can feel a quickening in the air & in your soul- an urge to "let go", to clear out the old and make space for something new.
"...Must be theSeason of the Witch"... Halloween
The Wheel of the Year has turned once again, bringing us to this special day of beginnings & endings. The day of the final harvest.
Samhain (pronounced Sow-en), dates back to the ancient Celts. The Celts believed that summer came to an end on October 31st & the New Year began on November 1st, with the start of winter.
The Halloween celebrations of today take nothing away from the spiritual
significance of Samhain. The main focus of the holiday is all about honoring family, past and present & share in communication with them during this special time when the veil between the physical world and the realm of the spirits & magic is at its' thinnest.
Feasts, the cauldron fire, cooking rituals, quiet time with loved ones, trick or treating, parties...however you choose to celebrate, craft your magick with love. Take a moment to reflect on your life & the passing of another year. Dive into the quiet of your mind for a bit, & revel in the last of the light while welcoming the introspective darkness that is quickly coming.
And Now For What's NEW....
