Living with the Little "c"

Mid month & pink ribbons are everywhere-in magazines, on shelves, even soup cans!

I don't begrudge money going to cancer research or support groups, but a marketing campaign, with pink vacuums & blow dryers?

It seems to me that some companies jump on the bandwagon not to make you aware of breast cancer, but to make you aware of the products they wish to sell to you.
The other issue is who is getting  the money? Before buying, find out exactly what percentage actually goes towards breast cancer & the name of the organization, as well as the company. Ironically, some companies investigated have been found to actually contribute to the breast cancer epidemic.

A good place to start?

The diagnosis of breast cancer is just the beginning.

Everything changes-the cancer thing roots in your mind & body. Get a headache, slept wrong & got a stiff neck, feel a strange ache? Your first thought is "has cancer spread to my brain? Is it in my bones?" No, it's the old cancer paranoia hitting you in the gut! As a woman with cancer you tend to live with this weight on your shoulders all your life. But you CAN control that life.

Stop waiting for life to get back to "normal". Who needs normal anyway?  Just accept life as it is-crazy & unpredictable- the NEW NORMAL. Life will never be the same, but, baby, it can be better!

And all that pink? This is my pink...full of love for all my cancer sisters...my posse on this road we all travel ....I am grateful to you all.
