September Greetings & Birthday Bash
Greetings!!!
Hope you all had a blessed Mabon. Today the air is decidedly chilly (at least to me!), signaling the end? of Indian summer.  Even the breeze  off the sea feels crisp. Soon we will be ablaze with Autumns' blazing colors. Fall magick beckons...
So, with  the headiness of the season around the corner, my thoughts have turned to scent of course. My question for you- What scents arouse you? What scents could you never live without? What aromatics sets your mouth watering?
And, what are your favorite seasonal scents?

I could never live without...

Cinnamon Bark & Tangerine in  the Fall
Canadian Black Spruce in Winter
Kashmir Lavender in Spring
Blood Orange, Key Lime & Tuberose in the  Summer
As well as... Patchouli ,Ylang Ylang & Jasmine Sambac SCO2 for passion

October 4th's full moon is the traditional Harvest Moon. (Always reminds me of the Neil Young song) Fall is the season of the harvest & after the autumn equinox the days become shorter, the cooler season encouraging us to slow down.  This is the perfect time to go within, harvest & find harmony. It is a time to cleanse mind & body as well as prioritize certain areas of your life. Which areas of your life need more balance?
If you desire celestial assistance, try the following: on the full moon take a piece of paper & let it bask in the light of the moon all night (as much as is possible). Store it & during the new moon take it out & write down all you want to manifest in life.
But for now-today-this weekend, I am planning to honor Venus. To play music I like, eat as much chocolate as I wish & pamper myself with a massage.
Happy Birthday all you Libra chicks!!!

Question -I just got my first perfume potion. How long does the scent last???
Namaste
This will vary from person to person. Also really odd is the fact that perfume evaporates more quickly on the hand used the most due to increased muscle mass.   All of our perfumes are 100% organic, made with only the finest organic essential oils & are centered around aromatherapy which is an added benefit for the user.  Chemical ingredients last longer on the skin. A perfume that lasts all day on the skin is almost certainly created from synthetics. Natural perfumes never last as long as synthetic ones as the chemicals  used 'stick' to your skin longer. A synthetic perfume can last all day (chemicals on your skin all day - yuk!).  Our natural perfume potions are concentrated & last up to about 6 hours. And don't  worry about reapplying them, because they are natural!
Now lets talk about  Sage or Sillage. This is a French term for the scent trail you  leave behind. Scent has always been sacred to me. It awakens the memory, encourages our imagination & has the ability to transport us to different places & times leading us headlong into a magickal fragrant world.  Scent is also our most powerful sense, as it actually gets stronger as we age.  Perfume is a promise in a bottle.

So for Helen who purchased Aphrodite which she is fondly calling her "love mojo blend"  I hope this answers your question.

"Perfume, that conqueror of the most subtle of our senses, that informer of our unspoken desires, perfume which from out of the unreliable depths of human memory uncovers the found of tears, the secret of pleasure." Colette

"Scent is a key, carried upon the breath of life, that opens the heart..."

Sisters of the great parade, we have bannered our way through centuries of risk & ridicule. Our grass roots have become giant redwoods, gathering strength over time bracing against those who would fell us without thought of our contribution to this world.
Our trickle has become the powerful river of change Giving sustenance & hope to all living beings. We know that each community we work with worldwide accords an ounce of peace on which to build a planet of peace ~Jane Evershed

Oil of The Month-Lemon Myrtle
Namaste  Lemon Myrtle is a lovely & quite cheerful essential oil which comes to us from Australia.  Many people there grow it as an ornamental bush in their yards. Australians also use Lemon Myrtleas an alternative to Tea Tree but unlike the medicinal aroma of Tea Tree, Lemon Myrtle's divine citrus aorma will make you go mmmmm...aaahhh...and come back for more!   Its uses are very similar to Tea Tree.  Lemon Myrtle is a very strong antibacterial, as well as an antiseptic & anti-fungal. It is becoming well known as a remedy for athlete's foot & staph infection.  Its germ killing capacity is probably stronger than that of Tea Tree.  The reason for this is the high concentration of chemicals known as citrals in Lemon Myrtle.  These citrals include geranial, neral, B-cyclocitral, a-cyclocitral, citronellal, linalool, & myrcene.  Because of the high concentration of citrals, Lemon Myrtle can be irritating to the skin, so one should dilute it well before use. Lemon Myrtle can be used in a diffusor to relieve symptoms of asthma & bronchitis, is soothing & uplifting to the emotions & can be used for depression as well. It has an allruing scent that is more lemony than lemon, with a little something indefinably captivating. Citrus lovers- this definitely will top your list.
