The mother of us all, the oldest of us all, Hard, splendid as rock, Let the beauty you love, be what you do. There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the earth"~ Rumi ~

My Mother, The Sea
" She brings me back to a sense of connectedness in the place where I am. She takes me back into the reality in which I live amongst others. She gives me an awareness of Self by allowing me to use all my senses. When I go to her, I see more clearly- as if my eyes have acquired an entirely new range of color within the iris. She has the ability to replenish me to a deep cleanliness. I feel alive & with purpose when I am in her presence. I am here again on the Earth with a reason to continue on- no matter what difficulties I may encounter. I no longer sense loss or feel displaced when I am with her. She has a profound healing effect on me. My first glimpse of her blue astounds me every time. My mind becomes calm. I need nothing else & nothing more during the moments I am with her. So I run & dive into Mother ocean joyfully, knowing I am complete" ~Nisa
What more can be said. I feel safest in the arms of the ocean, our Mother. This safe haven is the place of birth, ruled by a Goddess of fertility by whatever name you know her. For me, it is Yemaya. She governs the ebb & flow of the sea-constantly moving, constantly changing. Lately, the seas have been speaking ever so loudly. It is time to seek Her wisdom, it is time for balance. Remember, the Goddess does not rule the world, She is the world. |
Did You Know
In earlier times Mother's Day was not the memorial we know today but actually a cry for peace. In 1870 Julia Ward Howe, inspired by the work of Ann Jarvis (a dedicated anti-war activist who worked for peace & social justice), created the Mother's Day Proclamation. Otherwise known as "Mother's Day of Peace", this was a day for women to speak out against war, for their sons and all women across the globe. Her voice speaks for us today. Each mother shall seek peace for themselves as well. Blessings to all mothers - we need and honor you all! |

Happy To Repeat This Mothers Day
And the children said, "
You will always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone on your journey to the sky".
And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and she walked out of sight. And they said: "We cannot see her, but she is with us still. A mother like ours is more than a memory. She is a living presence" Your mother is always with you. She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, she's the smell of bleach in your freshly laundered clothes she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not well. Your mother lives inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop. She's the place you came from, your first home; and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love and your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, not space....not even death!
