" Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow" ~Melody Beattie It never ceases to amaze me how quickly time passes between Halloween & Thanksgiving. My thoughts now turn toward appreciating the blessings I have been given in this life. How often do you think about all you are grateful for? I have heard so many people say there isn't much to give thanks for this year. The many problems facing our world today cahllenge all our minds. So is this the right time to give thanks? Can we be grateful? Is this really a time to celebrate? Well, I say this is the perfect time. Celebrate survival. Celebrate the feeling of hope that this election brought to us. (Record numbers of people stormed the voting booths this very month seeking hope & change). Celebrate your family & friends. Celebrate gratitude. I offer my thanks & gratitude to all of you this Thanksgiving. And my deepest Thanksgiving to Her, the Goddess, for without Her I would not be here. From the heart comes the truest Thanksgiving. "Grace isn't a little prayer you chant before receiving a meal. It's a way to live" ~Jackie Windspear

"Oh Mother we are calling, your daughters we seek healing." To all who wrote, called or sent cards, Thank you. My breast surgery was postponed. Gotta power up that heart muscle!!! Lying in my hospital bed Friday I pondered the question: What if this illness was meant to illuminate my strength & growth, to signify that I am whole? So I asked myself- "Am I allowed to fall apart so that I can become whole"? "Surrender, Dorothy!!!"~The Wizard of Oz Without my physical body in perfect working order, everything around me will ultimately suffer. Let's face it, our bodies are the temples for our souls. So I surrendered, opened up if you will, and asked Her to show me the way. No more worrying or seeking answers for me.
And then Hekate arrrived. Queen of the Crossroads, She is guiding me just as she guided Persephone on Her dark path. And it was clear, Surrender doesn't mean giving up; it is giving over, asking assistance so you are open to something greater, something better. To surrender is to trust and I trust SHE will keep me safe.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Debbi
