Merry Meet Again Everyone I am so glad to be back!!!! I missed writing to you all last month. Now excuse me for not being very eloquent here, but sometimes words do not need to be pretty. What happened last month is all about the messages. The ones we receive but do not always listen to. Friends were planning a trip to the Hawaiian islands right around the end of April. Of course, loving Kauai I considered skipping the rest & joining them there. The Sacred Anahola mountain is believed to be the entry point for human birth as stated by the Dalai Lama. (I have a ticket to see him at Lehigh University next month). Coincidence? I wanted to go but something held me back. I am a firm believer in weekly massage & skipping was not an option even with my therapist in Hawaii. I scheduled with a therapist I see infrequently & during the session a lump was found under my armpit. Well to conclude, the lump was not a tumor (just scar tissue from a prior surgery which Pam, my therapist, already was aware of), but there were cancerous calcifications which were removed surgically. I am now recovered & awaiting a second procedure, profoundly thankful for the messages sent. Leah's discovery sent me to the doctor, something which never would have happened had I been away. Now for the important stuff- I must thank those of you who patiently supported me through this. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. You helped me hold up my world these past weeks. We can choose to be affected by the world or we can affect the world. Before my cancer I didn't look too deeply into the things we bring over into each new life. Do things that occur in a past life affect us in this one? If cancer is a message or gift of change shouldn't one seek out the reason whether in this lifetime or in the ones past? So, now I break out of my trance & become my own doctor. As someone once said "She didn't just survive-She Became" What messages or lessons await your discovery this month; this Solstice?

Happy Litha * Happy Solstice Litha is a holiday (actually an Esbat, minor holiday) celebrated by many Pagans. Many know it as Summer Solstice. Depending on where you are in the world and taking into account that tricky leap year, it falls somewhere between June 20th & 21st. It's polar opposite on the Wheel is Yule, or Winter Solstice. Summer Solstice is the longest day and the shortest night of the year. In the turn of the wheel the sun's power will begin to wane & the days grow shorter

Summer is my favorite time of the year especially living on the coast as I do. Shells, sand, the ocean, warm salty air, sun, flowers and THE WEEDS!! Many of these are healers offering us medicinal teas or tinctures. And my favorite 2, especially helpful now, are dandelion & chickweed. How many times have you pulled out & thrown away dandelions instead of saving the leaves for a tasty salad? Packed with healing properties dandelion is also a wonderful diuretic. The French for Dandelion is Pissenlit. Do I need to say more?

My first herbal studies teacher, Susun Weed, describes chickweed in this way- "it grabs impurities in the cell, and then it runs with them" Try chickweed in your next salad or as a substitute for basil in pesto sauce.

June 24th is Fairy Day! Jessica Galbreth, fairy artist, is founder of Fairy Day. This holiday is for everyone who believes in the magic of fairytales. According to the site, "it is for those imaginative souls who dare to dream impossible dreams. It is for the children of the world, wide eyed and open to the magic that surrounds them. It is for adults too, who long to capture a bit of that magic they remember from their own childhood". Celebrate with us this Fairy Day.

Crystal & Herb Dream Pillows
Stories tell of herbs that are used to calm bad dreams, bring about good dreams, or simply relax the mind. Dream pillows bring wondrous change to both sleep & dreaming. The pillows are also a great gift for the traveler who needs a scent of the familiar in a strange bed. Individuals who claim they don't dream are often the ones who are most impressed when they first use a dream pillow because they realize they have been dreaming all along, but just cannot remember. Herbal dream pillows are an enjoyable and pleasant way to promote creative dreaming and more restful sleep. And if sinus & headaches plague make sure you try one of those. Our potion dedicated to Marie LaVeau is a rum soaked offering to the spirits.Website correction-this powerful blend is a mixture of vanilla infused oil with sassafras, spice, bay rum, nutmeg, ginger, ruby grapefruit, lime bay leaf, white cognac mandrake root & roses along with smoky quartz, kyanite & essences. Those of you who requested this blend to honor the Queen of all Root Women- be careful what you wish for.
I adore all my customers, but when I get the opportunity to talk to you in person, I am on cloud nine. Those I have met recently have inspired me, leaving juicy ideas to take back to my blending table, resulting in test potions to share with you. This should answer the question as to what is in those little (usually unlabeled) vials in your packages.
Many Kisses,
Debbi Blue Moon Herbals & Aromatics LLC
