Greetings!
Mica�la Gallery is proud to announce the opening of Bag'O/Neo: 21st Century Modernism, a curatorial work presented by Rico J. Reyes. The exhibition (by predominantly San Francisco Bay Area artists) features artwork that incorporates the aesthetics of the 21st century with classic painting and sculpture traditions. Beautiful, visually engaging and intelligent, the exhibition formally displays a skillful melange of wit, playfulness and technical mastery of each artist's chosen medium.
Featured artists are Eliza Barrios (video/San Francisco Bay Area), Emily Caisip (painting/New York), Pauletta Chanco (painting/San Francisco Bay Area), Cirilo Domine (sculpture/Japan), John Yoyogi Fortes (painting/San Francisco Bay Area), Julia Marchand (painting/San Francisco Bay Area), and Christiane Ostertag (painting + sculpture/Germany). Rico J. Reyes (curator), a former San Francisco Bay Area resident and professor, currently resides in London and is a Ph.D. candidate at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
