Art Aficionado,
You are cordially invited to attend the opening
reception of Heung Mo Kim's "Mysdreams"
on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 from 6 to 9 pm.
Korean-born Kim explores space, bringing together
the mind, body and soul in the form of this
seemingly effortless series entitled "Mysdreams."
His self-induced limitation of color enables new
freedom for expression and exploration. Kim's use of
paint, ink, rice paper mounted on panels, and silk
on canvas allows the artist to achieve his
objectives with minimal
tools. The paintings blend within the space around
them wherever they are viewed; in many ways they
seem to portray a weightless journey, pushing the
limits of time and space, as we know it. Here is a
gentle push with a strong perception of the inevitable.
Heung Mo Kim is a MFA graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute.
