Greetings!

Are you doing what you love?

 

Why do I ask? I ask because over the past month I have had an incredible experience of working with a group of employees from a local day care and it has allowed me to share a side of me that I don't get to share with many people. You see, we are offering a program called the Active Fitness Challenge TM. It's a 6 week program that offers Heatlh and Fitness Motivation and Programming in the workplace. Part of the program includes a weekly workout with one of our Active trainers. Each workout is slightly different so that the participant can experience a variety of programs and to allow their bodies to move a different way each time. I had the opportunity to teach them a Latin Aerobics class (similar to Zumba) and it was a BLAST! I'm not sure who had more fun, but I can tell you that we all got a great workout and it made me realize that I am not doing enough of something that I love to do. Life is way too short to say, "Why didn't I do that, I really enjoyed that, or I wish I had done more of that". Even if it's once a week.....make sure that you do something HEALTHY OF COURSE that you love to do. If you aren't an indoor exerciser....GET OUTSIDE AND WALK!, join a running group, bike or swim. There is so many things to do. If you don't like to exercise outside.....try a new form of exercise, workout with a friend, take a class. Try to find something Active that you love to do.  

We are starting a TRX class this month so make sure you call or email and sign up now while space is available. Also, May is Runners month so if you love to run or even if you don't and want to try it, there are plenty of local opportunities to run. This Saturday we will be participating in the Jones 5 k run for technology and we have lots of clients joining us. It will be a super way to start out mothers day weekend. Oh and by the way.....if you haven't taken care of your mom yet, don't forget that you can purchase a gift certificate here at Active Body & Health. There's nothing greater than a gift of Health for your mom!

We are forming TRX classes Monday and Wednesdays at 6am. The TRX is a great tool to improving your bodys core and overall strength. balance and stability. Your body becomes your machine! It's even more fun to do in a group setting. Even the worlds top athletes like Drew Brees are training on this apparatus.   5K Run/Walk for Jones Elementary
Please join us this Saturday, May 8th for the first annual Jones 5k Run at Jones Elementary School to Benefit Technology. Many of our clients are participating with us as a group so it will be fun to run as a group and represent Active. If you haven't run a 5k before this is a great way to start.

  Active Athletic Acceleration

Want your kids to get Quicker, Stronger, Faster?  Have them come to summer camp with Dave and Active Body & Health.  Monday, Wed., Fridays 4-6pm.
The camp will run 4 weeks June 7 through July 2. 
This is a great way to start their summer off strong and competitive for the upcoming school year.  Learn about preventing injuries, nutrition and body control along with other important aspects of being a youth athlete in these demanding times! Active Fitness Challenge
We are just into our 5th week of our first 6 week Active Fitness Challenge TM. Our first team is from the Learning Tree Day Care in Annapolis. At the half way point of our 6 week program the group had lost over 15 total inches and over 30 lbs. We can't wait to see the totals at our Celebration Party next week where they will receive prices and awards from Emidio Vincenzo Escape Spa and Charm City Run Athletic Store.
