From Debi & Dave Vincent, Owners of Active Body & Health In Severna Park
Greetings!
So are you ready for Spring? We certainly have had a winter to remember! Some of us found how important it is to have a strong back and strong abs! Or some of you were smart and bought a snow blower and there's always the skiing!
Dave and I were lucky enough to get a chance to go away with the kids and some friends for one weekend to enjoy the snow and the slopes. Let me tell ya! I am sooooo glad that we are fit and active people. Our kids are already passing me on the slopes and if I wasn't in good shape, I wouldn't even be able to ski with them at all. If that isn't a reason to stay fit and active I don't know what is. What an amazing experience it is to watch your kids learn how to ski and you get to enjoy it with them. Skiing is definitely not an extra curricular activity that is for the inactive person. My girlfriend and I were laughing about the fact that by the time you have put on your ski clothes, your boots, your hat, your gloves, your scarf and maybe some hand warmers, you are completely exhausted. Then you have to actually walk in the boots and put on skis. Gotta stay in good shape for that activity! It is all worth it!
As we watch the Olympic Athletes this week we will be inspired and amazed. Take the time to sit and watch your favorite sports and athletes and maybe find the "athlete with in you" and you'll take Debi's Body Weight Challenge.
We hope you enjoy the newsletter and the up to date information regarding the "goings on" at Active.
Sincerely,
Debi and Dave Vincent

Getting Healthy on a Budget
Its hard to decide on what to buy to stretch your budget and eat healthy but here are a couple simple tips:
1. Eat in-season fruits and vegetables
February - oranges, tangelos, grapefruit, lemons, papaya, broccoli, cauliflower
2.Drink water - healthier and cheaper
3.Eat eggs! - full of vitamins, high in protein, low in price
4.Get whey - cheap source of protein. Use whey in a shake after a workout to help recovery ($70 for a 10lb. bag that lasts 4 months)
5.Take a good multivitamin - pesticides lower the levels of vitamins in fruits and vegetables. Take a multivitamin for about $20 month. Don't forget that the quality and production of your vitamin is essential. Ask us about our One "N" Only Multivitamin.
